  • Have another 'ug. I'm feeling 'uggy today *g*
I agree with keeping sentimental things like the collar - some things are just too precious to throw away.
When I cleared out Mum's house, I found that she had kept one nappy pin from me and one from my sister and labelled which was which. Lovely.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

LOL at the labelled nappy pins!:D

Mr LW has loads of stuff that belonged to his grandma and his mum; quite a bit of it is kitchen equipment, which we still use, so every time we get out the 50-year-old food mixer, he always says "Thanks, Grandma". It's nice though; I never knew his folks, his dad died many years ago, and him mum died a few months before we met, so I feel a sort of connection, iyswim. OK, I'll stop talking twaddle now.:D

  • Hey kass, sorry, book not posted yet - hopefully today or tomorrow.

lw that's lovely that he remembers to thank her!
I hope this'll make you larf - I had Mum's ashes in the car and it was tipping down with rain, and for some reason it didn't seem right to leave them there, so I brought them indoors and put them in the hallway - I kept tripping over the box and everytime I did it, I said "Ooops! Sorry Mum"! :o:rotfl:

    :hello:Hi Kass, how's little Charlie?

CwtA I did laugh at your tale - I can imagine it, too.

cwta I laughed at your story of mums ashes. It must have been lovely when you found those nappy pins, I have various things from my kids that I cant part with, in fact I was looking for something this morning and came across dd's baby shawl. I also have their first favourite teddies too.

I didnt have a sleep but Im feeling a bit brighter now I've had some lunch, just as well , Ive had a call from my Dad, he wants to call in on his way to the hospital for a cuppa in about an hour, I havn't seen him for a few weeks but he cant stay long. I wish I had the energy to rush around and tidy up before he gets here.

Suep I'm sure your dad will shut his eyes to a bit of untidiness - it's you he's coming to see, not the house. Enjoy your cuppa together!

I've just had a look at BZ's wedding stationery - isn't it fantastic? I wish I was that talented! I was hoping to do my own Yule cards this year (can never find *exactly* what I want in the shops) but.... well, we shall see. If I start soon I might have them ready in time.

pcl, suep, cwta, raeh thanks very much. I was happy with the invites too, but sis (who came yesterday and is a hobby card maker) did not seem sufficiently impressed. :(
now see i really like a pretty garden, but someone else has to do the work lol. i can manage the weedkiller, sort of, as long as the weeds are not so scary i cant get myself near them. last year i got gardeners in to tidy it all up and leave me a patch of mud. i meant to get them back to put nice, low maintenance plants in but didnt. and by low maintenance i meant will live and thrive with nmothing done by me and with cats eating and digging round them.
Sounds like my sort of gardening pcl! I had sister and 5yr niece and 11yr old nephew doing it yesterday while I watched :D Normally DF does it now and before I had him I didn't have gardens...I did have a yarden in my last house, which was just a glorified stretch of concrete...and yet the weeds still overran it. *Sigh*

Raeh we need a step at the front door too. Luckily my DF agrees with me, but doesn't mean we've actually done anything about it yet ;) Mil2b struggles with it too, which does, of course, strengthen my case...

Cwta I will venture down the toothbrush ailse on my next shopping trip. Forgot about it this time, tbh... usually I wash it through/leave it sat in some mouthwash stuff if I've not got a new one.
Have now changed my sig. ;) I was telling DF last night that really it should be 4 months left, as in 4 months time we won't be saying there's a month left, we'll be saying weeks... :p
Why did you ask for a BBQ already when you don't have a garden yet? A tad pre-emptive wasn't it? It did make me think that I should ask for one though as we do "need" one (as much as anyone "needs" a BBQ ;)). I've still not had any joy asking for a lawnmower though so I'm not holding my breath. If anyone spots any super-smashing-great lawnmower deals will you gimme a shout? DF wants to put weedkiller/grass seed/grass feed on the lawns (it's a combo I'm not struggling to remember which for once ;)) but once he does that the grass we'll shoot up and we don't have our own mower...plus of course there's the fact that the one that was here (which I was rejoicing for) burnt out first use

LW I really don't need the TMI bit....:shhh:! Beltane would appear to be on my bday though :D

meemee I have to chime in with cwta on the H&S front. They shouldn't've kept you at work, but at elast you'll know if/when next time. Just can't turn it off can we Cwta??? :rotfl:

Cwta et al none of you are on your own with not wanting anythin on the same day. I try to leave at least a day between things now too. I prefer them in completely seperate weeks if I'm honest! :o

Feels like ages since I was on here. I was sleeping this morning, absolutely knackered last night and crashed out with DF and some Grey's Anatomy after having popped to his mum's (which was a bit of a waste of time cos he was supposed to be checking through her finances with her but was too knackered after having not slept the night before ). Sister and niece and nephew appeared about 12pm and left about 7pm as the kids wouldn't allow her to try and take them home before DF got back (niece absolutely ADORES DF and nephew was desperate to play him on Boom Blox (on the wii) after I'd introduced him to it playing it here with him yesterday and then he bought it with some saved up pocket money for himself in Asda! It was nice having them here, and I'm really grateful for everything they've done in the garden (sister brought assorted plants - the names of which mean absolutely zilch to me! - and planted some of them in a bed DF had cleared) they mowed the lawns (harder than it sounds with how lumpy and weedy my lawns are!) and did some weeding. She even brought me some seeds bless her. It was lovely, and I'm grateful, but by 'eck I'm knackered! And the house got a little tipped upside down too, and as DF had only cleaned the night before... ;)

I'm trying to take it easy and stay in bed today, but I'm hungry, and there's no food in my part of the house. :( My friend's coming tonight, I think, to help with making the invites, but as they're already done  I thought she might be able to help with the Order of Services....only I'm (admittedly) a control freak....:o Maybe we'll just have girly chat instead ;) DF's thinking about calling in sick on job no 2 tonight as he's still not feeling well :( I'm sure I'm passing some of my bugs onto him...

P.s. I've put non-warped pics of my nieces in the bm dresses, if you're interested, now I've worked out the whole guest password malarky (which is using the same password btw). Link
