lol thank you. i am sure she does :D

nah gravel wouldnt work either, the dang weeds out there grow int he path to the shed, which is gravel and on the tarmac. plus i hate gardening full stop, so there is no remembering to keep on top of things apart from when i first peek out there or decide i want to sit in the sun. thanks for the suggestion though :)

the first summer i was off work sick i spent hours everyday digging the dandelions out of the garden i had then. pulled out every little bit of root i could find, right down to the concrete under the soil. they still grew back and were waist high when i sold the house the following spring. i was so cross that i had put all that effort in for nothing.

no nap, i thought the shopping was comign between 2 and 3, and i was wrong its 3-4. and vets at 4:30 by which point it will be too late for a nap.
• Oooh. I've just acquired a BBQ from Freecycle. Hadn't thought to ask on there, but someone has not only offered one, but is delivering!

The Living Room and the Bathroom are 90% packed and the Kitchen is 20% done. The big jobs will be the bedroom and the cupboard that the washing machine is in as it's crammed.
I think I may be doing too much too early as (all being well) move will be at the beginning of June.
I think I'll sit for the rest of the afternoon.

It's never too soon to get started in my view, CwtA. If you know you're not going to need it in the next 6 weeks, get it packed.

At least you won't be like my last relocation, when I arrived with the clothes I stood up in and nothing else!_pale_

Make sure you don't go at it like a bull at a gate though (pot calling kettle black there). Take lots of rest breaks.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

lw beat me to it so what she said!

lots of barbeques this summer then (assuming we gets the weather). well done.
• lw, that was the approach I was taking.

I was the same when I left my 2nd marraiage. And got totally screwed over by him as he was from a wealthy family (a well known brand of gin) and could throw all sorts of expenny lawyers at me. No matter now, we live and learn.
I am gonna rest for the remainder of the afternoon.

pcl We thought our back garden problems were sorted last year when we had the whole thing paved (its only small) Ive got a few pots with geraniums in and thats about it, no weeding I thought, then recently Ive noticed weeds poking under the fence from my neighbours gardens (both sides) There is no escape

cwta you sound very organised, cant believe how much packing you've done in a few days, well done. Also well done on the BBQ whenever I go on freecycle everythings already gone so Ive given up with it.

lw your baking marathon sounded scrummy - do you need a lodger?! Where the chuffing heck is Beltane?
Ahh, just realised - where's it being held?!

Regrettably CwtA I have nowhere to put a lodger, other than one of the Canine persuasion. I'm assuming you don't really want to sleep on a bean bag on the kitchen floor.:D

Beltane was an important festival in the Celtic calendar. The name originates from the Celtic god, Bel - the 'bright one', and the Gaelic word 'teine' meaning fire, giving the name 'bealttainn', meaning 'bright fire'.
This is the beginning of the 'lighted half' of the year when the Sun begins to set later in the evening

To our ancestors Beltane was the coming of summer and fertility. Nature is in bloom and the earth is full of fecundity and life.

Mr LW has 30th April and 1st May off; we do our own.... er... celebration, usually involving candles, champagne, and anything else would definitely be TMI:D

My plan went slightly awry as daughter didnt get half the things I wanted including what I needed for tonights dinner so instead of Hoisin tortilla wraps I ended up with a spicy bean and veg burger type thingy with chips and beans
