*flops* Yep, one of those nights. Evil costochondritis, for one thing. *sighs* That and my circadian rhythms got all turned about again. I woke up at 3pm yesterday, and I'd gone to bed at midnight, so that was crazy. Thanks for the good wishes. How are you?Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
trialia, am OK ta. Surprised top come across another Costo (I call it Costco *g) sufferer. I shouldn't be surprised after all we suffer from all sorts on here, never come across one before!
Do you get what I call Heart cramps, where it feels like someone has grabbed your Heart in the two hands and are twisting it in different directions?
I've been resorting to Ami everynight, but the postman woke me up at midday from a rather lovely dream *g*
Hope you manage to re-set your (internal) clock soon - harder to cope with everything when you are lacking in sleep ain't it.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

I actually want to punch this person now! I heard him do a little sneeze then came on here and saw what auntie axe said so got a bit worried.
I was told that he was ready to go on the 7th which is today so I presumed he was 8 week old today. I'd had asked for him a few days early if he was eating because of my birthday.
Anyway, I asked the lass to text me his exact date of birth and she said it was 24th Feb...........still didn't think anything of it.
Rang vet and they said nowt to worry about cos he's still eating and that stress can bring symptoms of it on so that was probably it. Said to just bring him for his injections next week. We then went through the registration thing and when I gave him his D.O.B. he said "you do realise that makes him 6 weeks old?"
I'm absolutely furious!! They obviously didn't give a f!!k about him.
I'm taking him in tomorrow to have him checked over. Two weeks is a long time in a kittens life isn't it? No wonder she didn't want me coming to her house, wouldn't have wanted me to know where she lives so I can go and tell her what I think :mad::mad:0 -
kass i agree with careful, vets asap just to be sure it is just a cold and not an infection or cat flu. kittens can go from reasonably well to very ill very quickly. iirc my sisters kittens had to have worming stuff either every day or every week for a month or two, so if he didnt come with any special instructions like that he most probably wont have been wormed, or flea treated. flea stuff needs ot come form vets at his age. i cant remember what age they start fomr, but i think its a month. the otc stuff is crap except for the frontline sold by vantage pharmacies and pets at home (according to the pdsa and my vet) as they are liscenced to sell the correct stuff at the correct strength, the other stuff is really weak strength.
lw enjoy having the mr home today0 -
two weeks is a long time to a baby, no wonder he wasnt eating properly, he sprobably still wants to nurse. best to get him checked over regardless but ggrr at the people who had him.0

*chuckles* It sometimes comes with fibro, and I have very nearly all the possible symptoms of fibromyalgia syndrome, which is why I always make sure to tack the 'syndrome' onto it whenever I tell anyone what I have - I have fibro and all its little friends, apart from the ones affecting the heart, with the exception there again of Costo. I've actually had Costo since before I got hit with FMS, I just didn't know what it was back then. I'm 90% sure that's the fault of my Marfanoid ribcage, which is just plain evil.
Indeed it is. So tired right now it took me 3 tries to type my own domain name, and I can't lift my head off the couch arm. Thank goodness for laptops. Going to go nap for an hour or two just now... and hopefully be feeling better after that.
kass, that's awful! I recommend this special type of lactose-extra milk they make for baby animals that are having trouble eating, but I can't remember its name. My mama used to use it for baby rabbits who had trouble nursing, and it's just as good for kittens...Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
kass, at least Charlie is in your hands now and you'll look after him, I'm sure.
Trialia, hope you manage to get some decent sleep. I don't know what a Marfanoid ribcage is, but I'll look it up. I have a lump in the centre of my chest that protrudes like a hernia and is very tender to the touch. Turns out it's pat of my breast bone/rib cage. Being a hefty wench, no-one knows quite why it's there, but it is and it's tender! Am convinvced it's inflammation due to Costco.
LW and Kass, am totally with you on the pedigree breeding and I cheered when BC dropped Crufts. It's amoral to breed purely for aesthetics rather than for the welfare of the animal.
When we got the two retired racing greyhounds, they were both really timid and terrified of men - Milli more so that Kates. It took them years to get over it, but they are the most wonderful, gentle creatures with real personality.
Enjoy having Mr LW around today.
bz I agree with the throwing the dice thing. If you are disappointed with the answer it comes up with and want to throw it again, you'll know that you secretly wanted "that" one.
After ressurecting old lappie, and spending a week on and off fixing the problematic one, I think it's finally done. Still have to go off and make a cup of tea while it boots up though.
Tis sunny here after a wet day yesterday, but I relly don't feel like doing anything much, so will make the lasagne and if I fancy sitting for the rest of the day then that's what I'll do.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Kass I shall send some good healing vibes little Charlie's way; get him checked over by a good cat-friendly vet (some vets are better with particular types of animals than others, I've found), and if there's any justice at all in this world, the little guy'll be fine. I've heard of kitten milk before (my friend Anne has used it for her "babies") but I don't know any details. I'm sure the vet will be able to point you in the right direction. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
