Whats the best brand of washing machine?

It sometimes does it when spinning a load which is out of distribution a little more than usual. It also makes a knocking sound when washing sometimes - usually small/medium loads in plenty of water. The engineer told me it was the drum knocking the pipes, because it was so cramped inside.
Yes mine has the knocking sound too, it's really quite bad. We only put the washer on during the day now. I think it might annoy the neighbours if it was on in the evening.
I have no doubt an engineer will tell me it's an uneven load issue but after experimenting with various loads from 2 pllowcases up to a full drum, I know it's not.
I hate the machine so much I want rid of it tbh.Herman - MP for all!

**crosses Bosch off my list**

Lol...maybe other models are better? I just dont think the design is appropriate for a 1600 spin speed.Herman - MP for all!

ALL brands are going to have issues. TBH, if you wanted bosch, I would just avoid models with that type of door. They do a different one which is more standard and feels more robust.Edinburghlass wrote: »**crosses Bosch off my list**
You're going to hear bad things about all brands, so you may as well cross ALL of them off.Kavanne

If your machine is still under warranty, take advantage of it. If we don't report these problems, how are they to know of them?
Two other things that bug me about the Bosch WAS32466: 1) If you turn the dial mid-cycle, it stops the program and you have to start it all over again. 2) If you knock the spin speed button while it's spinning, it goes to the next lowest spin speed - which wouldn't be too bad, if it would let change back from say 400 to 1600. It just sticks at the lowest spin speed.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 -
I've just booked an engineer for Friday, for both the door locking and drum knocking sounds. I wonder what happens?

I did complain about my bugs - basically, they can't rectify them until their next design of a newer washer.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 -
How much does it cost to get an engineer to come out, basmic?Kavanne

I wouldn't do that - they are very good machines. Even with the small niggles I get with mine, I'd still make my next machine a Bosch.Edinburghlass wrote: »**crosses Bosch off my list**

My concern is that the engineer will blame the noise on an unbalanced load/overloading/not perfectly level machine etc etc and the callout will therefore not be covered under the guarantee.
Your last coment backs up my thoughts that this particular model is poorly designed (especially for a 1600 spin speed which obviously involves more movement).
If I had a hot water intake pipe too (I only have a cold where my machine is sited and it would be a mammoth task getting a hot feed there too) I'd get the LG steam machine. From what I've read, it is well regarded. Although like Kavanne said above, there will be issues with everything so I daresay there are some bad reviews about this model floating about too.Herman - MP for all!

I'm not advocating Hotpoint as I know you don't like them (had my last one 5 years, about the same as the Bosch I had previously) but I bought my new Hotpoint washing machine when it was on special offer at Costco last week. They sell other makes too. The thing is with Costco - they have an unlimited warranty as long as you stay a member. So in 5 years time, even if I don't like it any more, I can take it back and receive a full refund - take it back for any reason at any time. It's a no brainer really! (for me anyway).0
