Maybe they thought she meant the Healthy Start Vouchers which are means tested0 -
Just spoken to the helpline. They don't send the forms out - you have to get them from your doctor or midwife.0

Yes and lets hope that all GP surgeries are on the ball. I heard nothing about this from the Government and found out on here - made sure I ordered lots for my surgery so that all my pg ladies get the grant.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

If you explain to the helpline that your midwife or doctor cannot or will not give you a form, the helpline will arrange for someone from the HiPG 'back office' to contact their midwife/doctor to explain what to do/how to get forms.
HMRC will not accept a claim if the first part of the form is not completed and signed by a "health professional" (HP). The point is that by signing it, the HP is 'certifying' that they have given the mum2b advice on how to stay healthy during the pregnancy; and confirming that the claimant is pregnant. The HP has to fill in their details, the claimant's EDD, and how many babies they are expecting (not that a multiple birth makes any difference to the grant - it's £190 per pregnancy, not babies). After completing that, and signing it, the HP gives it to the Mum2b to fill the rest in and send it to HMRC. Mum2b needs to add their name and address, contact number, date of birth, NI number, bank details. No income or employment details are required.
If any of HP's details, including NHS registration number, - or EDD - is missing, they will try to contact HP. The claim won't be fully processed.
If any of claimant's name, address, dob, NI number is missing, HMRC won't even be able to enter the claim on to the system - they will try to contact claimant for the missing information.0 -
Did anyone get confirmation of them recieving your form? I haven't heard anything from them at all. I did call them about a month ago and they didn't have any of the details on their system but did say it will be april when payments start to go out.E.I.J.O.Q.U.X.Y.Z:staradmin You gotta be in it to win it! :staradmin0

I was advised that if your baby is born after the 6th April you are still entitled to ask for this grant you must claim it within three months of birth though.
Mine has been filled in and sent off but after a short discussion with the people running the scheme i am a little disappointed there is going to be a large backlog of applications, the computer system was not in place, no one is opening mail and making a note of who has sent them in and its going to take them possibily till May to get themselves up and running so although the money will arrive eventually don't expect it to be in your bank account on the 1st April.
My wife was due on the 26th of March, but our baby was born on the 7th of April.
However i have subsequently phoned up to check our eligibility, and have been told that we are not eligible.
This seems somewhat bizarre to me, since the due date is an estimate, so it doesn't seem reasonable that this approximate measure forms part of a cut-off point, since the birth date is the only legal date here, and this clearly sits in then new tax year.
Doe anyone have any information to shed on this?0 -
Wilmott - congrats
I think its just that the gov had to set a way of starting it and that seams to be how they always do these things, it was the same 2yrs ago when the introduced the extra 3mths of SMP my friend's EDD was end of march but baby was born in April and she wasn't entitled to the extra SMP
I also suppose its because the grant is meant to be used to keep the mum healthy in the third trimester so its when she is 25 weeks that is important not when baby actually comes out0 -
Payments are now starting to come through. I sent my forms off at the end of january and the £190 went into my bank account today. From what I have read there is still a huge backlog but at least they are starting to get through it!2013 wins: Persil Bunny0
