    Hi

Been claiming ppi for my mum since May from Clydesdale Bank. She had 2 loans with them over past 7 years and 1 is paid off now.

She got phone call from Ombudsman today to say they have accepted first loan was mis sold but not the second!

They are going to send her letter in post tonight with offer. The Ombudsman said they are going to look into the other one for her. Dont understand why they can say one was mis sold but not the other! any ideas?

    Hi there, hope your well.;)
    Good news then........:T:T.

Maybe they are dealing with it separately perhaps??

Did your mum have the same reasons for mis selling on both the loan ppi hun?

Hi just had a reply to my second letter from mallard finance with regards to claiming my ppi, they claim they never got my first letter but it was sent recorded and they have asked why i feel i need to claim to which the reason was already in the 1st letter,.... is this their way of wasting more time til i get bored of responding ? I have replied with copies of previous letters sent (3 in total) and stated that i will give them 14 days to reply.

Glad you have not given up and if they go beyond the 8 weeks to respond to the complaint in a full and final response then you are free to go to the FOS anyway and they should give you the option (if they are actually covered by FOS). Good luck and let us know how you get on.

yes definately stalling, when did you take out the loan / ppi - was it sold directly from mallard or a broker ?
  • I started a reclaim with capital one in 2007 for mis-sold ppi. Capital one sent the usual guff about the fact that we did have payment protection inurance however this was not mis-sold. We took our case to the ombudsman and we have just received a letter from them stating that we never had ppi! They enclosed the application form showing the box unchecked and statements showing that no premiums have been taken for the ppi! We are confused to say the least! When we started this reclaim we were absolutely certain that we had ppi insurance and although we did not have the original paperwork we had verbal confirmation from capital one that the protection had been added! We have also had several letters from them admitting that ppi had been added!

I suppose I am just wondering now if we can take this any further?
We have wasted the last 3 years chasing this with countless letters and phone calls. I think that capital one are dishonest. How easy is it for them to remove the tick from the box and manipulate the evidence?

    any views would be appreciated.
You cant have everything; where would you put it? ;)
    Reclaimed: marbles c/card-£131.00,MBNA c/card-£385.00,Capital One c/card-£230.00,Natwest c/card-£248.68,Nationwide PPI-£1590.88,Nationwide c/card-£56.21,Barclays PPI-£2805.28
  • Morning guy's

wondering if anyone can help me. i took out an 11k bank loan with Natwest in 2003. Now it was quite strange how i took the loan out, basically my then partner had a friend who worked for them and they sorted it out, brought home the paper work for me to sign and that was that. i was told i had to have PPI insurance otherwise i couldnt have the loan (i was in a pretty bad financial state at the point).

The loan was included with my IVA which was completed in 2007 and the bank account closed although i still have the account details! i have been trying my hardest to get in touch with natwest but no body will speak to me, the call centre's say the account has been closed too long therefore they dont hold any information and to write to the branch, have written to the branch but had no reply. i now dont know where to go from here!

on a good not my cheque For £572 from egg arrived this morning so thats a nice christmas present.

any advise would be very much apprecited :)

finally got a reply from capital one it is now more than 4 weeks since my last letter that said no because the were only the brokers and do not give finacial advice the person i spoke to told me they did not do loans without ppi . It was a single premium and my partner has a pre exsisting med never asked about this. this next letter asking for permission to speak to the bank endeavour finance . Is this just stalling I have th fos form ready and waiting to post . do I send it anyway or wait a couple of weeks

What they are meaning is that they sold the PPI without advice and it was therefore a non advised sale. Granted it may have been non advised but if it was made compulsory to the loan then its still a missale as these policies should not be made compulsory. I would get the complaint into FOS if they were under their jurisdiction for the time of your loan.

    Good luck
  • Hi, I took out a loan with Halifax for £5000 over 4 years, I have recently received a call from Bridgewater Claims Managment, they asked me a couple of questions about my loan and said that i have a good case, not sure what for exactly, it is for the PPI but it must be for something else aswell because they said that they would be able to class the loan as void and i would get the £3900 (that is still left to pay) cleared and also get the money that i have already paid back!! This is very interesting although they are looking £399 + VAT before they do anything, so i want to check it all out before paying that amount out for something i might not even win! The only thing that is putting me off is that my loan was taken out on October 2007 but i have read that you have to have a loan before April 2007 for this to apply, i said this to the girl on the phone and she said that it can be anytime in 2007 but of course she would say that if she is getting money out of it!! I was just wanting someones opinion before i pay out that money!! Do you think i should go for it and take a chance??

    Thanks

    Hello and welcome.;)

Personally I would be careful of these claims companies and give it a go yourself by having help from this site, with help of the template letters and so on, and when successful you will receive ALL your money and request for the interest as well, it will be all yours, you will not have to pay a penny, just for posting which is recommended by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting.

Here is more info with the guidelines of reclaiming:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Have a look through this link and please ask for help if required.

If you want to check these claims companies out its worth doing that, you can do this here:
    http://www.justice.gov.uk/contactus.htm

But as I said above please be very careful and it will be worth giving it a go yourself with help on here when required.

    Good luck.;)
