PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

I got this letter from Lloyds after 4 weeks. I then had a final response from them after another 2-3 weeks... so about 7 weeks in all.HI all, bee reading this forum for months as im try to reclaim PPI off a TSB Credit Card, contacted them direct with my complaint as i never signed anything for PPI ( it was 1999 - and in the local branch ).
Anyways , they noted my complaint and sent me a letter after 4 weeks saying that they are still investigating and they would reply to me with a final response in 4 weeks.
4 weeks passed and another letter..
" we are unable to provide a final response as of yet as our investigation is incomplete, we do hope to give you a final response in the next few weeks, as 8 weeks have passed you are now within your rights to contact the FOS" etc etc.
now are they just wasting time here or will they give me a final response, im aware that i have 6 months after the initial complaint to contact the FOS.
any help or advice would be great
thanks

Hi there
This is standard of Lloyds, I have waited over 8 weeks but I am aware of the backlog they have.
However, if I hear nothing by say another 14 days I will then consider moving on to the financial ombudsman service (FOS).
You do have that option if you do not hear nothing by the time 8 weeks have passed, or if you want to on your own accord a little longer its up to you.
Hope you hear from them with good news soon, please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
The usual response that everyone else seems to be receiving from Lloyds after its gone past the 8 weeks. (However it did not go this far with the credit card ppi complaint which was eventually successful with the FOS), this is on the loan ppi on just one of the complaints. As this is now the 2rd response.
Dear
I wrote to you December 3 as I have been investigating your complaint about your loan protection. In my last letter I explained that I hoped to provide you with a full response within 4 weeks.
I'm sorry that I'm not in the position to complaint a final response. If your unhappy with the delay you are entitled to take your complaint directly to the Financial Ombudsman Service. The ombudsman contact details are in the enclosed explanatory leaflet.
Please be assured that I will continue your complaint. I expect to provide you with a full response shortly. If you feel you have any more information which may help with our enquiries please call us on the number below. I must advise you that our decision will be made based on the evidence available to us. We will not be able to review this decision again unless you can provide us with new evidence we are not already taken into consideration.
If you would like to discuss the contents of this letter further or have any questions please call me on 0845 6026993.
Your sincerely

Hi Guys, could someone please help Tgrindy as they have asked me for help but I don't feel experienced enough to help them. They are unsure how to post so here is their question to me
"Hi Becks, thanks so much for replying, sorry but I have had trouble with my modem so have only just seen your message.
Good news for you and I hope the cheque arrives soon.
I have good news re Egg, or should I say Lowells, they have closed the file, I suppose this means they cannot find the agreement.
Anyway with ref to my other PPI with Barclaycard, they have sent me a letter saying they will deal with it as soon as possible but meanwhile would I complete the form (which they enclosed) Problem is they ask so many questions and I really cant remember such a long time ago 2003. All I remember is that 1 and half years later I tried to claim, I was either out of work or ill, and they said I didn’t qualify as I was self employed. It took a while to get the policy cancelled. I told them I had been paying for nothing if I couldn’t claim. Trouble is, this was all done by phone at the time.
I requested a SAR from Barclaycard and they have sent all sorts of useless documentation but they have not sent the original agreement, but I am sure that if they had told me clearly it did not cover self employed people, I would never have agreed, unless at the time I felt it was compulsory to get the credit card.
I have looked at Martins Template Letter but that also has so many different paragraphs to choose from and I really do not want to get it wrong or they will jump at the chance of not repaying the PPI.
Please would you be able to help me with what to put in my letter as the original one I sent just said to them that in my opinion the Insurance was missold to me, but they obviously want to know the ins and outs of the conversation way back when I applied for my credit card."
Thanks for any help you can give them

I posted months ago re trying to assist my brother claim PPI from Royal Bank of Scotland. He had no records of his loan and was almost at the end of the time limit for claiming. Following info given by kind people in this forum, we duly downloaded templates etc, received initial knockbacks and I thought bro had given up.
He just told me that after sending off the £10 request for info RBOS offered him over £2500.
He accepted, though I realise he could have argued for more. I hadn't thought he'd a chance of getting anything back with no records.
Thank you so much ! :TFinally Debt Free (£8k to zero) yay! :j :j
