HI all, bee reading this forum for months as im try to reclaim PPI off a TSB Credit Card, contacted them direct with my complaint as i never signed anything for PPI ( it was 1999 - and in the local branch ).
Anyways , they noted my complaint and sent me a letter after 4 weeks saying that they are still investigating and they would reply to me with a final response in 4 weeks.
4 weeks passed and another letter..
" we are unable to provide a final response as of yet as our investigation is incomplete, we do hope to give you a final response in the next few weeks, as 8 weeks have passed you are now within your rights to contact the FOS" etc etc.
now are they just wasting time here or will they give me a final response, im aware that i have 6 months after the initial complaint to contact the FOS.
any help or advice would be great
thanks

Hello and welcome.
Wishing you luck with these.
Hopefully the next time you hear it will be the news your waiting for, but if not then you can move on to the FOS.
However, as they have already mentioned the FOS and the 8 weeks have passed you are entitled to do this now if you want to.

Myself and my hubby were both successful in regards of the Credit cards PPI through the FOS, and now we are waiting for a result from lloyds in regards of the loans ppi, and still awaiting to hear the outcome from them.
We are actually in the same position as yourself with the 8 weeks that have passed but are giving them a little longer due to the xmas period as well, maybe another 14 days from here, then if we hear nothing its FOS time.;)
Please keep us posted, good luck.

marshallka wrote: »Hi Longword, was your complaint originally that Egg had told you that by having the PPI it would help in your application?? If this is the case and you applied online then this would be classed as a non advised sale whereby Egg would have not advised anything. I realise you are pretty miffed at the FOS but was the box perhaps pre ticked?? If it was then there is a chance that you could still win but certainly not by saying you were advised that the PPI would help in applying unless of course you rang them first and could perhaps prove this???
So sorry how this has turned out.

Hi, I took out a loan with Halifax for £5000 over 4 years, I have recently received a call from Bridgewater Claims Managment, they asked me a couple of questions about my loan and said that i have a good case, not sure what for exactly, it is for the PPI but it must be for something else aswell because they said that they would be able to class the loan as void and i would get the £3900 (that is still left to pay) cleared and also get the money that i have already paid back!! This is very interesting although they are looking £399 + VAT before they do anything, so i want to check it all out before paying that amount out for something i might not even win! The only thing that is putting me off is that my loan was taken out on October 2007 but i have read that you have to have a loan before April 2007 for this to apply, i said this to the girl on the phone and she said that it can be anytime in 2007 but of course she would say that if she is getting money out of it!! I was just wanting someones opinion before i pay out that money!! Do you think i should go for it and take a chance??
Thanks

Hi, I was made redundant in September and contacted my card and loan issuers straight away. I had taken PPI with Egg on my card and loan.
I received a letter today with details of the payment made to the card which is great, however they are saying that the loan has a 180 day excess period on it and that payments will not start until then and will not be backdated.
I wasn't told about this excess period when taking the loan should I have been?0 -
