    Hi there

Have you started a reclaim with these yet?

Wishing you luck and hope someone posts up who have had dealings with them, fingers crossed.;)
Yes sent a letter but sent it to black horse because thats who the finance was with but should have sent it to direct cars because they sold it us, even though black horse had there own bit in direct cars. They ignored it so now with ombudsmen its 2004 one so not holding much hope. They are going to look at the underwriters of the agreement.

  • I feel I again have to write to you regarding my claim.

After my last letter about being misinformed over said time it would take for claim to go through, ??????????????? phoned me, which I appreciated greatly.

Since I spoke to ???? I have received two letters from lloyds, on both letters they are only stating one account number when infact you are dealing with two accounts, as I have paid for both accounts to be investigated I find this rather strange.

I have tried on numerous occasions since I received my first letter from Lloyds on 27th October to contact you on 0203 159 1049, this number continually rings and no one answers. Today I have received yet another letter from Lloyds and again have tried to phone you, and again it just rings.

The letters are in regard of the length of time they are saying it will take them to investigate my claim. Letter dated 27th October said 8 weeks, but they would contact me after 4 weeks, which is the letter I received today. Again I find this very strange as you said in your letter dated 23rd September, it would be highly unlikely to take less than 9 months.

I am beginning to get very confused, and especially as I have not heard anything from yourselves since September when I received the letter regarding it going to take 9 months, then I received a phone call from ???????????????????, since then nothing?

Again I would like someone to contact me with regards to this seeing as I cannot get through to you.

Hi there, maybe I can try to give an explaination of the timescales being quoted to you, Lloyds have 8 weeks in which to respond to any complaint - invariably Lloyds will deny your claim and then presumably the company will take the complaint on your behalf to the financial Ombudsman Service, who are taking between 9 - 18 months to adjudicate upon your complaint which is probably why you're being quoted 9 months. As for the account numbers, I can't answer that other than to say Lloyds may be being lazy and just quoting the first number on the letter of complaint.

were you just reclaiming the PPI, if so how much did they charge?
  • Evening all, just had the following from black horse directors of ppi but I need some help with the calcs
    The emailed confirmed the below

Although there is no evidence to support that the policy was sold incorrectly, as a gesture of goodwill I am arranging for a refund of the insurance paid by you to be refunded. As the agreement has been settled early, the settlement figure paid included a rebate of a proportion of the insurance cost as you receive a rebate in the event of early settlement. We are calculating the amount of refund due and will be writing to you setting out the offer for your consideration.

What exactly does this mean? How do I work out what is a reasonale offer.

    Can anyone help??

    The figures are as follows

    Loan £14300.00
    Ppi £5891.99 both without interest.

I paid the loan for 12 months at £359.67 with was £253.59 loan & £106.08 ppi

I then settled by paying £17088.00

If anyone can help I will be happty to give more figures if needs be.

    Thanks in advance

    Claire x ;)
  • Ok, here's one for yous!

I've just been looking at my Home Contents insurance (I'm a tenant) to see how much I could save by paying annually rather than my current direct debit, and lo and behold those 3 horrible words jump out at me - Payment Protection Insurance!

Just like with my current loan claim, I am certain I would not have agreed to PPI.

So I looked back, I started the policy in May 05. The agreement does not show a figure or tick box for PPI, just that the monthly payment 'is inclusive of PPI in accordance with your instructions'.

May 06 statement shows £9.72 PPI.
May 07 statement shows 'not eligible for PPI due to your age or occupation'
Letter rec'd 4th May 07 says 'oops, your statement said you weren't eligible for PPI, this was a computer error, don't worry we are still ripping you off with PPI'.
Revised May 07 statement shows £11.64 PPI.
May 08 statement shows £11.03 PPI.
May 09 statement shows £11.04 PPI

So around £40 in PPI paid out in total. Not a huge amount, but I'm livid I let this get past me!!! I would never have expected to have PPI foisted on a Home Contents insurance policy!

Anyone have experience of claiming PPI for HC insurance? What's my best course of action here? No need for SAR as I'm certain I have all paperwork - so straight in with a claim letter?
  • Got a refund from Lloyds TSB yesterday! They have still "forgotten" to key a refund for one of the loans but I've got documentation to prove I should have it so all is, almost, well!

The one thing I find strange is that I have written to them numerous times and not got a response even from my Rec Delivary letters. I contacted the Omnbudsmen on Monday morning, she took my name and who I was complaining about but just gave me some basic advice and a case ref. Lo and behold, 24 hours later my refund comes out the blue! Would my details have been sent to Lloyds so they can swerve a full Omnbudsmen complaint?

    Hi there
This could be one for Tiggrae.;)

However a SAR could hopefully be worth your while as well if you do not have all your paperwork, but as you have the paperwork, then in my opinion there is no harm in going straight for the reclaiming side of it.
More on the link below with useful guidelines of reclaiming, with template letters and so on, please yell for help if required and hopefully others will also post with some advice for you on this, good luck.
