PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Im currently claiming for mis-sold PPI from Welcome finance, In total I have had 7 loans including my current loan. It was always a case of refinancing so the first loan was £3000 next £8000 and so on until now i have a loan for £25000. On all the loans I was told having the PPI cover would help with me getting the loan. Anyway my question is not about being mis-sold but where i would start to work out or find out what I would be able to claim back.
I know the PPI was always up front and added to the loan but i have no calculations as to what I may have been refunded if anything each time I refinanced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards

Hi Greg
It may be a good start then to maybe request for a Subject access Request (SAR), they have 40 days to comply and send all the info they hold on you.
There is a charge of £10 postal order or cheque payment for this though, and I would also post this letter by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.
There is a SAR template here below, just as long as you provide the most updated account number they should supply all info they still hold on you.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
However, the SAR may only go back as far as 5/6 years, saying that with one of mine I was lucky to receive info going back from late 1990's.
Then take it from there, but in regards of reclaiming the PPI, this mainly is due to the reason of being mis sold for any reason you may have.
You will find more info on PPI reclaiming on this link below:

Yell if you require any help from here, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
This has possibly been covered here before but here's hoping that someone will give me some assistance.
My wife's Lloyds credit card was cloned last year. The bank was good in that it spotted the activity and cancelled the card and gave her a new one. In all the discussions, they asked her if she would like PPI and, for some bizarre reason, she agreed. Her previous card did not have PPI on it.
Now, according to my wife, she has not signed anything. I will be writing to Lloyds asking for a copy of the paperwork.
Has anyone else had anything similar? Have you tried to claim back the PPI and been successful?
I'm at work at the moment but will also be looking at the policy document when I get home. My wife has some underlying health problems that may mean that the PPI wouldn't pay out anyway.
The balance on my wife's card is enormous - we're just in the process of starting a DMP. Last month's PPI premium was over £100.
Thanks in advance

Hi Jim and welcome;)
Sorry to hear this.
I was successful with a credit card ppi through the FOS, but recently it seems that many have been successful with complaining direct with lloyds.
Its good you have also requested for the paperwork, I take it this was a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter?
You will find one here otherwise:

In regards of reclaiming the link below are the guidelines of reclaiming the PPI, and template letter, also a checklist of mis selling reasons:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Check this out, and if you require any help from there, please just yell.
Also just to add, if successful, they may refund the PPI towards arrears if any, and anything remaining should be refunded direct to you.
Good luck and please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi! and thankyou for your reply.
I have in the past been offered around £50 on reclaims of 2,000 -3,000. I am almost certain it was for inconvenience caused but I didn't request this at the start of the claim. I was just wondering if I can negotiate with the FOS if I feel that the amount is not satisfactory or am I best to take what I am offered. The FOS also stated in my last reclaim sucess letter that the bank/credit card company should provide me with a full breakdown of how they came to the figure that they have offered. So far none of them have done this. Do I have the right to reject their first offer and push them over this?
Sorry for so many questions, just not sure where I stand.
Thanks again xYou cant have everything; where would you put it?Reclaimed: marbles c/card-£131.00,MBNA c/card-£385.00,Capital One c/card-£230.00,Natwest c/card-£248.68,Nationwide PPI-£1590.88,Nationwide c/card-£56.21,Barclays PPI-£2805.280 -
Hi there
Have you started a reclaim with these yet?
Wishing you luck and hope someone posts up who have had dealings with them, fingers crossed.;)
Yes sent a letter but sent it to black horse because thats who the finance was with but should have sent it to direct cars because they sold it us, even though black horse had there own bit in direct cars. They ignored it so now with ombudsmen its 2004 one so not holding much hope. They are going to look at the underwriters of the agreement.0 -
My wife has got a claim, against Yorkshire Bank, for misselling of PPI for a visa card. She has only claimed for £3,700, going back to 2002, even thought the card was taken out long before then.
They have now written to her, to advise that, as the original agreement was dated September 1993, her claim is statute barred. I have referred the matter to the FOS, but wonder is there any particular arguments I should be putting to them, in respect of limitation?0
