    Hello and welcome.

That is a load of tosh what they have told you, and funny how they should ring and not put this into writing.

Write back hun and tell them your mum is not standing for this, and they can go back at least 6 years, even more in some cases.
Tell them you know your rights and if they do not resolve this by refunding all the PPI and the interest then you will take this to the financial ombudsman service to investigate, and tell them you want all correspondence in writing.
Give them 14 days to get back to you.
    Post by recorded delivery.

This should all go in your mum's favour, keep at them.;)
totally agree on this one di, they try all tricks in the book, this was a mis sell no mistake

Evening all, just had the following from black horse directors of ppi but I need some help with the calcs
    The emailed confirmed the below

Although there is no evidence to support that the policy was sold incorrectly, as a gesture of goodwill I am arranging for a refund of the insurance paid by you to be refunded. As the agreement has been settled early, the settlement figure paid included a rebate of a proportion of the insurance cost as you receive a rebate in the event of early settlement. We are calculating the amount of refund due and will be writing to you setting out the offer for your consideration.

What exactly does this mean? How do I work out what is a reasonale offer.

    Can anyone help??

    The figures are as follows

    Loan £14300.00
    Ppi £5891.99 both without interest.

I paid the loan for 12 months at £359.67 with was £253.59 loan & £106.08 ppi

I then settled by paying £17088.00

If anyone can help I will be happty to give more figures if needs be.

    Thanks in advance

    Claire x ;)

Hi can anyone help please? I put in a claim for mis selling of a ppi with alliance and leicester who agreed to refund the ppi and premiums. However looking at the breakdown of the refund they state they will refund The premiums paid (A)£219.92 plus interest (B)£26.11 plus the original PPI amount (C) £629.40 but their figure comes back at £655.51 which is only the interest on the premium and the actual PPI amount C) and doesn't include the premiums paid (A) I have queried this with them saying they should refund the premium paid as well so A+B+C which totals £875.43 but am coming up against a brick wall as they say the figure of £655.51 is correct which means they havent included what I paid in premiums £219.92. Is it me getting the figures wrong or am I right that they should repay the PPI plus Premiums paid and interest on the premiums paid??????? Help anybody!!!

    hi Claire,

you paid the loan / ppi for 12 months - total £4316.04 ( £1272.96 is the PPI element) on the redemption you paid £17400 - which is approximately £1200 over - so a proportion of that will be loan interest and a proportion will be PPI - I'm not sure how they will have worked it out though - do you still have your redepmtion letter?

if the original PPI loan amount was £629.40 then the £219.92 is included in the £629.40 (ie they are repaying you £219.92 you've paid and £409.48 you've not paid) plus interest on the premiums paid
