PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

  • Hi all

I posted on here a couple of weeks ago asking for, (and getting), help with a successful PPI claim I had made with Lloyds. I had signed the refund/settlement forms and posted them back but had heard nothing for four week. I was advised, from here, to post another letter to them Rec Delivary which I did almost three weeks ago but still no response. I have even rang them up and left a message for the case handler to call me back but get no response.

Should I keep waiting or take further action? If action is required whats the best route to take?

    All help most appreciated!

I think that's why your payment is sol low - they would only class you as having 'paid' for the PPI if you paid off the balance in any one particular month - I'll try and dig out what the FOS have said about repayment of ppi on credit cards

Thanks for that - it makes sense now :o Sounds fair enough now I think about it. Oh well, at least I've been able to pay off that card and it should be showing as closed on my credit record too soon!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Hi, frist time on here, i took out a loan with Nat West in 03/04. i feel that i was miss sold PPi as when i could not meet repayments due to loss of job i was told that i was not able to use the PPI to help. the account is now in defult, i do not have a copy of the credit agreement and i am being asked to repay £8,000 when i only took out a loan for £3,000. should i follow this up?
  • We put in a claim to Egg, for misselling PPI as part of a credit card. They have now written, to us, stating that over £3,200.00, being the full amount of the premiums, together with interest, will be credited against the balance of the amount currently owing, on the account (about £7K) within the next few days.

We have telephoned Egg, to tell them that, as the premiums, had come out of our bank account, we wanted the monies put back into that account. However, they refuse to do that, even though we threatened to stop the monthly payments, such that they would have to take us to court, where they would run the risk that the whole debt might be written off, as per the recent case, in Newcastle.

Anyone else had a similar problem? If so, what was the outcome?

Well some ought to make complaints about the FLA not doing their job. I was wondering about this as their members had a code to follow didn't they and they don't really bother to try to help and should. What was the point of it?

I totally agree Marshallka, I remember being told to get in touch with these and they done nothing....., I even remember emailing them back and saying what is the point of them, but did they get back......lol not a chance.

    Hi Odyysey
    So your still waiting then?
I take it you also checked on Track and Trace (Royal mail) website that this reached them?

I would give them another quick call, tell them your aware they have received your letter as you have the tracking details, ask them what is going on here?
Then of course it may be the case of having to go to the FOS on this, but lets hope now by you chasing them up with do the trick.

However, I do understand they have backlogs of refunds they are dealing with and some have been told they have no timescale on paying them out, I think this is so wrong, but give them your own timescale and if you hear nothing contact the FOS by phone and ask them your options on this.

Hope you hear soon hun, fingers crossed and please keep us posted.

Thanks for the welcome, my claim has passed through the adjudicator and the ombudsman has made his decision which was in my favour and I posted back my acceptance of the decision. I was informed that I should here back from the bank within four weeks, that the case was closed with the ombudsman and if I hadn't heard back from the bank then I should contact the bank directly?
can I ask which bank it's with ??

    Hi there and welcome.;)

I would also post for help on the debtfreewannabe thread as well here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=76
Ask for template letters to send to the bank about your hardship if you post about your hardship on the above post, you should receive help on this part of it there, but in regards of your PPI, you can still reclaim on this no matter what.

For more on reclaiming PPI, the link below is the guidelines of reclaiming, so just as long as you have the account number do not worry about the agreement for now, normally they send one back with the first response.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You will find reclaiming ppi letters on this link, follow the guidelines and post your letter by recorded delivery.

If you did want to request for a copy of your agreement though, enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment, (maybe postal order would be best), and ask that they send you your CCA by 12 days, post by recorded delivery.

Hope this helps please ask for further help if required, good luck and please also keep us posted.;)

  • :confused:Feeling very disheartened right now. Put a misold PPI claim into Central Capital who we are paying an extortionate amount of insurance premiums to for just a 60 month period. They have declined our claim and we now have to go to the FOS. This is fine but they seem pretty confident that the sales person covered all points relevant but we are pretty sure they didn't !! This is after they have listened to recorded calls apparentley.

Is it worth fighting on and approaching the FOS if the company appear so confident ????

ps: I have also asked for my own copies of the call.
