Hi tiggrae, the company was actually chasing GE Money on this which was the lender. I had originally wrote to the lender 2 years ago and had been advised to go back to the broker which is when someone stepped in and offered to do it for me. I have no idea who the administrators are or where to reach them. I'm being told absolutely nothing.
yes, loans.co.uk have brokered for GE Money so they are the one's tht should have been contacted - by administrator I meant the person (solicitor?) you spoke to who told you the company was in administration - I would have thought that person was was the administrator - don't be despondent - you just need to track down where your claims are at and then we can all help you !!!

ring loans.co.uk - tell them the claims management company is in administration and ask them for information regarding your claims - all you need are your account numbers.

then ring the financial ombudsman service - explain what's happened and ask if any complaints have been lodged in your name - do you recall ever being sent forms to sign for the ombudsman ?
  • Hi, no i've never been sent any forms for the ombudsman. I have all of my letters from the solicitor who was acting on behalf of loancheck. I have all of the copy letters that they were sending to GE Money's solicitors and I have my loan account numbers. So I assume that it would be better to phone the solicitor back and ask them to return the files to me?
Sorry to be a pain but I just can't believe this has happened. after all this time.
  • forgot to add that as far as i'm aware they have not had any correspondance with loans.co.uk at all.

There is a thread here about Loancheck and it says in it that your claims are now with solicitors and its the solicitors that you have the disagreements with. They will have most probably started work on your claims and if you withdraw they may charge you lots of money (apparently in the contracts you signed if you did according to this thread). Have a read through and perhaps post in it so someone can help you in the right direction.

Hi tiggrae, I think that the loancheck complaints are not against claiming back PPI as such and they go much deeper. If all they are doing is taking complaints to FOS then they would not make all the claims they do. They claim that its much more than just the PPI you can claim back (at some point wasn't it the whole agreements). Petermb has left posts in this thread about what to do about claims already with solicitors here

Were at one time.... don't think its the case now..
  • hi tiggrae, it would seem that the whole lot of them has gone bust. I don't think i'm going to get out of this without cost. I think I will just have to wait by the looks of things. although one would have thought that surely if the solicitors have gone bust also that the contract would be null and void. I think I may have to get legal help on this one.
  • for me it was never about challenging the whole agreement but about getting my ppi back plus commissions etc that i'd been charged for that no one had mentioned.
thanks for your help guys. if you hadn't directed me to the other threads I wouldn't have known I wasn't on my own.

so the loancheck was trying to get the whole loan including the ppi overturned, I've not really kept up with this but wasn't there something about it not being possible and very few had ever been overturned. The only advice I can give then is regarding the ppi element is to start your claim against loans.co.uk !!
