of course - tell them you need details of the original policy to check if their offer is reasonable
At least it will not have had rule 78 used in rebating the interest as it was abolished in 2005 and this was taken out 2007. ;)

I have come across this from another site I post on......I'm sure they won't mind me posting it here, change it if you want to your way, and maybe give your own date as well when to expect this.;)

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you in regard to my S.7 DPA Subject Access Request letter sent on xx/xx/xx. Enclosed with this request was statutory £10 fee.
As you will be aware the DPA states that you must supply this data upon demand within a reasonable timescale, a maximum of 40 days. As yet no I have not received the data as requested, so I would like to remind you that you have until xx/xx/xx to supply it.

I would also remind you that failure to comply with this request would be a breach of DPA regulations and would result in a complaint being made to the Information Commissioners Office, and legal action to force disclosure.

I trust that such action would not be necessary and look forward to receiving the information as requested before the 40 day deadline.

    Yours sincerely

    Good luck and your welcome.
If this fails you would be best to contact the information commissioners office (ICO)
    https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx

If you made the payment by cheque, do you know if this have been debited out of your bank account?

  • Well, home from my hols to discover that Sainsburys have not sent the cheque that they used as their excuse for the delay in receiving a settlement from them, instead they have credited my account with a figure of just over £700. That differs hugely from my estimate of what they were due me!

My PPI premiums without any interest added over the 6 years comes to £730. The terms of the agreement we reached with the FOS was that payment should be "a full refund of the PPI premium plus any associated interest, along with the interest at 8% simple on any overpayments you have made up until the date the settlement is calculated."

On the transactions part of my statement, it says that the:
    Premium refund is £180,
    8% interest £322
    APR of £249

Does anyone have any thoughts on how they have calculated this? It just seems strange to me that I paid over £700 in monthly premiums, yet they are basing their sums on £180!

Perhaps a cheque is still to follow in the post!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

did you always pay off your balance every month ?
  • hi all, please bear with me while I explain my sorry tale. I first realised I potentially had a claim for miss-sell around 2 years ago on 2 accounts which were taken with the broker loans.co.uk. Then I was offerred some help on this site via some company called Loancheck. They took up my cases and advised me 6-9 months for completion. Anyway, cut a long story short. I have been waiting 20 months and now have been informed (after making a phonecall to the solicitor this morning) that the company has gone into administration and my files are now floating around waiting to be taken on by other solicitors. I feel absolutely gutted. I am in extreme financial difficulty and have been jollied on throughout the year with 'almost there'. So now I think I may be better off taking this on myself. So, my question is does anyone have any good advice to offer me and also an address for loans.co.uk.
    I feel unbelievably fed up.
Thanks guys and sorry to be such a whiner!

I'd write to loans.co.uk and ask them the status of your case and for any correspondence to be sent to you - I'd also get back onto the administrators and say you want your file - you should quote the data protection act - once you've got the information let us know and we'll help you make the next steps. The address for loans.co.uk is

loans.co.uk Limited, Customer Complaints - 6 Marlin House, Croxley Business Park, Watford, WD18 8TD

do you know if any of your complaints are with the Financial Ombudsman Service, if so contact them and ask for an update
  • Hi tiggrae, the company was actually chasing GE Money on this which was the lender. I had originally wrote to the lender 2 years ago and had been advised to go back to the broker which is when someone stepped in and offered to do it for me. I have no idea who the administrators are or where to reach them. I'm being told absolutely nothing.
