I first contact Black Horse in October 2007 and received a typical fob of letter in November 2007. I responded to this letter 4 times and didnt receive a single reply.....Anyway after reading threads on here
I emailed ppi directors on Monday, I got an out of office reply and I contacted the urgent enquirys name on the out of office as advised.
I then on Tuesday received confirmation that my email will be passed to the complaints team.
Yesterday i received an email from the complaints manager to confirm that she had passed this to enquiry to one of her team members.
I waited to hear until close of business today for a reply but heard nothing, so I rang them direct on the number on the email.
The complaint manager confirmed once agian that she had passed this to one of her staff. I asked during the conversation ''what is the policy with dealing with complaints and what is the time scale.
She confirmed that it was currently being looked at and that I would hear something via email & post before Wednesday.
Hopefully we are no making some progress.....at last!!!!
Let just hope its a good result, has anyone else had similar dealings with Black Horse???

I’m glad that your finally making some progress. :j
Good luck, x:money:0 -
Your welcome.;)
Arh right now I see what you mean.
This is happen to me with one of mine, after signing and accepting, again on that one 2 years ago.
It was something like Oct 2007 we signed and it was not until Jan 2008 we received the refund, however the FOS still intervened, when they say close I assumed this would mean when you have finally received your payout, as I am aware that the ombudsman also receives the copy of the calculations as well, they did in my case where they noted I was not refunded all that was owed to me.
Then they made contact to the business who then sent another cheque.
I would in your case, write the bank a letter and ask them when you are expected to receive your refund, as you accepted and signed through the ombudsman, they should now oblige to this, and ask that they send you the payment by 14 days of your letter.
(send your ombudsman a copy as well like I did).
You can also mention on the letter that further action will be considered if you do not receive your refund by (give them a date).
When I wrote 14 days, think if I remember correctly it was either by the 10th or 12 days of sending that letter we received the refund.
Hope this helps.;) Good luck.
Excuse my lack of knowledge in these matters but who am I threatening them with as the Ombudsmans letter made it clear that the matter is now closed with them and I should direct any further communication to the bank?

sorry don't have AA - but if you go to their website - they are obliged to give an address to send complaints - so you should be able to get it from there0 -

I have been following this thread and you all sound like you know what you are talking about!
I complained to Lloyds TSB at the end of august and after a couple of 'we are still investigating your case, sorry its taking so long but feel free to go to the ombudsman' type letters I finally got a reply today.
They have rejected my first complaint about the amount I was paying and after looking at the documents I agree with them (although feeling a bit stupid!).
However I complained about the fact that for a 7 year loan I was only covered for 5 years. Their reply is all just words words words and I still don't really understand it!
They have offered £1773.07 as a good will settlement (the premium was originally £5484.51).
This money would be paid into the loan account not into my current account.
My questions are:
Should I take this offer?
Can I ask for the money to be paid into my current account or by a cheque?
Thanks0 -
Hello everyone reading,
Just feel i need to write my testimony to this wonderful site and the man himself martin lewis." thank you so much for your free vital advise and inspirational feedbacks"
My story, £15000 loan with barclays and halfway through the loan lost my job and in debt, try to claim on PPI but not successful,so loan was sold to debt collector.
I got a new job started paying the debt collector, until i came across martin lewis' moneysavingexpert. i just give it ago and within a month barclays agreed to pay back £4200 incl 8% interest back.i was so relieved to see the cheque in the post yesterday.barclay divided the money into two half will go to debt collector to reduce the outstanding balance on loan (£6300).after this i will be left with a banlace of around £4500 with the debt collector.i called the debt collector yesterday to make a deal on a final settlement of £2000 and they agreed.now i am wait for the written agreement in post before making the payment. now i want to claim for my older loan which i cleared around 2002-wish me luck!
I am so happy of the though of being debt free by christmas. My writing of this is to encourage people to give it a try if they feel that they've got a claim and to challenge the good people of the forum not to relent in their effort to keep people informed.
final thank you to martin lewis himself, you are a genius.0 -

Also, with the first loan - don't give up - you can always take your complaint to the financial ombudsman - even if you did sign for the ppi - did you feel pressured into doing so - were you offered alternative / cheaper cover, were you told you would be paying interest on the ppi element - if not these are all reasons to claim mis selling0
