Hello
following on from then wonderful advice i got here the other day, i wondered if i may be so cheeky to ask another question
I suffer from an as yet undiagnosed nerve prob in my right arm/hand. it affects my whole arm, so i struggle to do daily activities and using pcs etc.
My first ever consultation with a dr was in nov 2006, since then i have had several gp visits, carpal tunnel dilation op (which was recommended following nerve conduction studies) although when they had the wrist open on the op table, i heard 'oh look, the median nerve is fine here, we didnt need to do this op' , i have also had an mri scan, intensive physio, and several drug treaments. all which havent done much (bar the medication) except keep my pain at a somewhat managable level.
in feb 2008 i had to give up my job, they had tried to redeploy me in mid 2007, but the new job didnt work out either, they struggled to find me a alternative job, and were ringing me everyday for jobs, to cut a long story short, i couldnt cope with them pressuring me to take jobs that i know i couldnt do and would hurt me more, so i resigned.
I tried to claim on my mortgage insurance, which i first took out nov 2005 approx, i then updated this cover in early 2007 when we added my husband onto our mortgage. I also had a bill protector cover and cc ppi in place. all with the same terms and conditions.
this was in march 2008, it took until oct 2008 for them to say no, as far as they were concerned it was a pre existing condition as my med notes said that first visit to gp was in nov 06 stating that i had first experienced pain 2.5 yrs ago.
this was true, but at the time i was advised by the staff nurse at work to simply stretch my hand out more etc, they did not recognise any rsi symptoms then. there is no record of this at work though as they swiftly got rid when people starterd coming forward with pains etc. Now at the time when i saw that nurse, i had no idea that i was going to be in such a state that i had to give up work.
When i took out the policy with Halifax, they asked the usual questions, heart probs, history of health probs etc. Of which i answered no as that was the truth. I was never asked about any pre existing conditions at the time, it was only when it came to light that they said they wouldn’t pay out that i found out about this pre-existing condition.
As i say although i had some pains at that time, i never dreamt that they would develop into this!
Die you think that i would have a valid claim?? If they had have asked me at the time i could have given them the details, but im just so angry that as well the mortgage and cc cover, they offered me the bill protector also, when i couldn’t have claimed on any of them!!
Any advice??Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Hi all, esp Showergirl and Natalie 6999,
I have received a letter from the fos today saying that TPF have agreed to settle on a goodwill basis and i have to send the acceptance letter and they will forward to TPF and i should receive payment within 8 weeks.
All in all its taken stage 1 and stage 2 letters and then complaining to the fos for them to pay up. Didnt even have to go to an adjudicator.
Happy days:beer:0 -
