Yes your right probably wouldn't have paid out. How much paperwork do you have for your loan?

    I felt that I couldn't say no......I haven't made a claim against any PPI's:confused:

Scoodies, If you go to the template letter it gives you a list of reasons you want to complain about.

You delete the ones that arent relevent and you can tweak the ones that you feel apply to you.

One of my reasons was that they pressured me saying what if you died who would pay the balance of your loan. I said I had life insurance that more than covered my debts and she said but thats a big chunk out of your life insurance that could benefit your next of kin.

You can say you dont think the person who sold it to you had proper financial knowledge, that kind of thing. Its all on the sample letter.

Pre existing medical conditions are also a reason for mis selling. Especially if they didnt ask you if you had any.

I'm gobsmacked here!!! This is the exact same thing that was said to me when I told her I had an incurable illness. Stupid thing was, I believed her, but the reality is, ifhad died, they would not have paid out because it was due to a pre-existing condition!!!

I know but I ended up having the ppi so they knew what they were doing. When they know you are a single parent of an 8 year old they play on your emotions. Cos thats what I thought. Oh my god that insurance will have to pay for him for the next 10years what if there isnt enough?
  • Just a little update.. Received responses from Both the FSA and FOS today regarding some procedural issue I had concerns with.

The FOS response was at best very General But Confirmed that they would take into consideration inferences as to the lenders documentated role in the transaction and would very much like to see my complaint (this was a pre-complaint) and it took just 2 weeks for a response YAY!

The FSA have taken my issues as a complaint against them, something to do with me saying that the Agents at the FSA should not be telling consumers that the broker is 100% responsible without having the facts in front of them, and based on the evidence provided they are now going to fully investigate my complaint against the FSA.. not my intention but at least it does shine a little light on the practices of FIRSTPLUS, so hope we can get the FSAs higher up conclusion on this matter.

Rest assured that many of your points were argued, and brought to light also.

Also managed to get in a bit about certain Phoenix Brokers.

All in all its been a very interesting day.

Go for it. The letter is on the first page. When you click on "claim back mis sold ppi", scroll down to the template letter. Its all explained what to do.

Even if it takes a year through having to go to FOS its worth it.
