Are you passing it back to FOS then?
Hi Marshallka and thanks.;)
I really do not know what to do on this, it was hubby that suggested it, but have that feeling it will be a waste of time, what do you think?

Hi. Can anyone help with some advice?
Today received a letter from my insurance ( GE Money Home Lending) associated with my loan, stating that my plan ends on 29/10/09 at the end of the five year term, and they will not be able to offer any further cover.
I have also been made redundant recently so
Q1 - Should I claim on the insurance or start the complaints process (or can I do both)
Q2 - If I do claim before the end of the policy and cannot find immediate employment how long should I expect to get the payments?
Any help would be appreciated before I complete the claims form0 -

Hello and welcome.;)
Hopefully someone else will post and give their opinions on this as well, but I take it then you still have a loan to protect, but the cover now is coming to an end this month?
So then you will not be protected after that.
May I ask if you have already tried making a claim on this since being made redundant? (sorry to hear about this anyway).
If you have not made a successful reclaim, do you know as well apart from the reason of this only protecting you for 5 years, if you were mis sold this from when this was first sold to you?
I would personally (if you have never made a successful claim) write to complain on this, because of the reasons you have posted above, as you will not be protected after next month anyway.
(Are you aware as well to protect your finance, there are stand alone cheaper options, you can purchase)?
For more information, please check this link below and if you require help from them, please do post up, we will try to help you through this all we can.

Many thanks
I have never made a claim on the policy or in fact never even thought about it until I was made redundant.
I was under the impression that the cover was for the life of the policy, and only find out today that I have only got a months cover left.
I think I will reply to the letter asking why it is not as I thought for the duration of the loan,. I do remember something from the sales man about the loan should only take about 5 years to pay off , which may be mis representation.
