They should actually repay you in a cheque whatever amounts of the repayments you have made to date that were because of the PPI and interest on the PPI and add 8% statutory interest on top. They then calculate what you would owe for the PPI and interest and redo the loan without this amount.

If they have given you a cheque for the overpayments made on the account to date and 8% statutory interest on top then this is correct and then they take the rest (as you have not actually paid it yet) from the loan. They will only give you money back that you have actually paid out. The rest would have been owing so comes off the settlement of the loan and the loan redone without it.

Seems to me they have done it right from your post above. They have put you back into the position as if you never had the PPI.

Where you say they have offset it against the loan, they have only offset what WOULD have been charged (you have not actually paid this amount off yet) and the rest that you have been out of pocket for is repaid in the form of a cheque.

When you first sign in, as you know, you click on to Forums on the right hand side.
Then a list will come up, you will see Reclaim PPI & Other Insurance:

When you click on this you will see a big list, such as Reclaiming discussion thread, success thread and so on, then further down, approx = 10 threads down, you will then finally see:
Picture in default/FSCS Claims.

I tend to think that we will get all the PPI back plus 8% interest I cant see the FSCS working out how many payments we have all made individually if you see what I mean. Then it is up to us wether we pay it to Picture or not. I have had an idea on what to do with our big fat cheques, all of sod off to my favorite place Fuerteventura and all have a huge barbie and beers on the beach, hows that sound?

If you click on to the usual link, reclaim ppi & other insurance, where you have all these threads, you will find this in approx 10 threads down.
