Too true... it's a waiting game now... I just wish it wasn't getting to me as much as it is... been fine for the past 2 years of dealing with this but now it's close to a conclusion it's keeping me up at night!!

It's like Christmas or a birthday when you are a kid.....The closer you are to something the further away it seems and the more you anticipate it;)

Let's face it we've all been waiting and fighting for close to 2 years so it's hardly surprising we're all on tender hooks. At the end of the day we should be happy that Picture went bust and were passed to the FSCS.

I know this sound daft but think about it:
    • The FSCS won't try to wiggle out of payment once the decision is made
    • They can't appeal if cases are found in our favour.
    • Their cheques are unlikely to bounce
Look at some of the other companies talked about on this website...Even when they have been found to have miss-sold PPI by the FOS they appeal, delay and squirm to avoid paying.......I don't think I could face that:cool:

If we've waited 2 years we can wait a couple more months

Thanks for posting Gumbi and your advice I understand what you are saying the harder we fight it wont make any difference at all in the end but we are all getting really desperate now and we cant seem to get any answers to how long all this is going to take. If someone just said it will be a couple of months or weeks I think we would all settle down and wait. It just seems impossible that they have until jan 2010 to settle more than six hundred claims, thats a hundred a month. anyway back to the waiting game. Halpins is right though thinking about it all keeps you up all night and you are constantly waiting for the postman or reading every post on here hoping someone else hears something it is s..t Thanks anyway gumbi.:T

    Hi Keza

sorry hun, I thought I left you a post yesterday.....:o. Sorry if you have not received it.......strange that though.....
If you hear nothing by the 8 weeks they have, then I agree with Dialysis, move your case on to the FOS, as they have had ample time to sort this out.
    Good luck. X

Guys I wish I could help but I'm as much in the dark as everybody else I'm afraid....

My big gripe was the amount of time it was taking the FSCS to declare Picture in default as I new that this was only the 1st step! I hate to say it but now that they are finally in default I think we will all need to let the system run it's course.

The lack of information from Delliotes annd the FSCS is largely down to the fact that those we speak to honestly don't know and will usually say anything to get us off the phone, whilst those that do know what's going on won't say for fear of saying some thing that could set a precendent.

I don't think there is any conspircy just a system that is creaking under the pressure, however the post about Target turning up at the doorstep does worry me as this would appear to be the actions of a company on the brink.

Bottom line......There's not a whole hell of a lot we can do to speed things up. It sucks I know, but we are all slaves to the system in end. Remember, the harder you !!!! into the wind the more of comes back and hits you in the face and there's plenty out there looking to !!!! on you already so why help them!
Thanks Gumbi for replying so quickly. No doubt you are right and we should be grateful they are in default..I will try to let it take it's course:mad: although it will be difficult.I too think the company is on the brbk. i reqested a settlement figure last year and they offered to waive the early settlement fee if it was setled by November - which quite surprised me. This amounted to about £2000. I thought then they just wanted to claw back as much cash as possible - as soon as posible.
If you do find out any inside info I'm sure you will keep us posted
    Cheers;)
