Hello sandzb, I still have no idea what they consider a successful claim! If they follow the same rulles as the FOS then thats good.
As to who will get paid out to first this month is anyones guess, 1 person? 2? 50? I have no idea.DS1 12/10/04

Hope you are well. It may depend on how much info they have on an individual claim. If they need to request any more from us , this will delay the claim
I was living in hope that as single premium policies have been banned it will just be a case of us all being mis-sold and a blanket decision being made, or am I being too optimistic;)
Do you think they have or will request recording the sale as it is hard to remember what is actually said when you are in a desperate situation regarding acceptance for the loan.
Take care

This is only my opinion but the way it comes across is that most if not all claims will be successful because of what you say about the single premium policy, 5 year policy for a 25 year loan and the usual mis selling points.
The FSCS have been working with the FOS and FSA and even have the FSA information on their web page so surely the guidelines must be the same.
I dont know about phone calls , but I know people have agreed to the PPI and still been mis sold for the reasons above.
When Deloittes rang me all they asked was for mine amd my husbands occupations at the time of sale so I hope this means they dont need anything else.
I am optimistic like you and hoping that the only thing happening now is the calculations. Take care and lets hope we are posting news soon, I am becoming obsessed with checking this forum for news of anyone with news!!

Hi
I am looking for some help . I received a reply to my reclaim letter for ppi from a topshop store card today, they have stated that because I took out the account cover in 2001 before the FSA decision came into force that the decision is not relevant to my situation. Is this true if the account was still live within the last 6 years?
Also at the time the account was taken out I was a student with a part time job, would this entitle me to state the account cover (ppi) was missold as I am not sure if I would've been covered or not?!
Any help would be really appreciate!!:j

I am the same, checking all the posts in the hope of good news. I wish I was good at calculations. I did post the other day for some help. Hopefully one of the guys will get back to me soon.
Comparing the copy of agreement they sent me against the original makes me hopeful as they obviously had to make some changes,re- total amount inc interest was shown on copy and yet only the cash amount was shown on original. This was just one of the parts they had changed.
Lets just hope for the best and remain positive. Hopefully it will be all worth while to see my daughter in a better position financially - kids -"who'd 'ave em", I would every time;):D
Take care

Hi and welcome.;)
They should have still investigated by the 8 weeks.
Did you send back the questionaire despite not completing this and letting them know that you have not completed with your reasons.
If this loan was taken out within the last 6 years in England and Wales, Scotland 5 years they should hold your details within that time.
As long as 6 months have not gone by then I would go to the FOS and let them know you have not heard anything further from the business.
Good luck.
I did not send the questionaire back and i have lost the copy of my original letter.Do you think i should send the stage two letter before going to the ombudsman.0 -
Hi all
I am thankful to those who had replied to my previos posts.
Finally I decided to reclaim my PPI for my loans with Lloyds TSb through an agency. Just wondering whether the company I have chosen is good. It is Canary claims and is in London. It is regulated by the Ministry of Justice if that is of any use. They said they will charge me 20% +VAT cheaper than 25% fee that others are charging.
Has anyone heard of this company and used this before and had a successful otcome.
Please advice me with this.
Regards

excellent, good for you! if you want to use the template letter on this site you can . i wrote my own letter as i hate forms at the best of times lol, when you get a reply let us know what it says and we will let you know the next step
I've been talking to a company who offer a service for free with the support of solicitors - they add there fees on top! This sounded great but they are now suggesting that because the claim is quite large and it could take up to 12 months to sort out, that they make a 15% charge to 'speed things up'. They also say they have a good relationship with Firstplus.0
