PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi all
I am thankful to those who had replied to my previos posts.
Finally I decided to reclaim my PPI for my loans with Lloyds TSb through an agency. Just wondering whether the company I have chosen is good. It is Canary claims and is in London. It is regulated by the Ministry of Justice if that is of any use. They said they will charge me 20% +VAT cheaper than 25% fee that others are charging.
Has anyone heard of this company and used this before and had a successful otcome.
Please advice me with this.
Regards

I've been talking to a company who offer a service for free with the support of solicitors - they add there fees on top! This sounded great but they are now suggesting that because the claim is quite large and it could take up to 12 months to sort out, that they make a 15% charge to 'speed things up'. They also say they have a good relationship with Firstplus.0

I think there is a lack of confidence on my part and then being offered a service that was free and appearing to have more clout is tempting.0

you dont need confidence to do this, we will all help you every step of the way, you will not be alone, at the end of the day you will be better off and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you did this! and no one else made a profit from you, by the way they do not have more clout and it will take the same length of time, they have no magic wand.
I agree, no magic wand, no special relationship, just a load of claptrap to try and get you to pay for something you can do yourself.0 -
I did not send the questionaire back and i have lost the copy of my original letter.Do you think i should send the stage two letter before going to the ombudsman.
Hi there
Yes write back this way you will know where you stand, they may try to say this was dealt with a while ago, but tell them your reasons of why you could not go any further at the time if you want to, and your in the position to to do now.;)

Hi All,
I sent a letter to Sainsburys requesting a copy of the CCA I had with them.
I am no longer a customer, but I received a response saying:
"Unfortunately, I have been unable to trace an open credit agreement with the information provided. Please resubmit your request with a full history of your client's name and address; together with a valid agreement number."
Now what do I do?
Firstly, I did not write them on behalf of a client, I was writing about myself. This was very clear in my letter. I also provided my full name, dob and address. I do not have a 'valid' agreement number as I am no longer a client!
Unfortunately, I no longer have the old loan account number.

Hi guys, Ive started the process of claiming back ppi on a loan I took with AA back in 2005.
I sent the following letter last week......
Dear Sir or Madam,
Account number: [insert account number]
I am writing to request a copy of my original loan agreement with AA Finance. If the original loan agreement does not include details of the insurance added to the account, such as the number and cost of any monthly payments or any lump sum fees and interest charges applicable to this fee, please attach or advise how I can get access to this information.
I look forward to your response within 40 days, as is obliged under the Data Protection Act 1998. If not I shall seek remedy from the Information Commissioner.
Yours faithfully,
XXXXX
Yesterday I reiceved a statement from AA which just showed how much I pay each month and how much of this is interest. There was no mention of PPI, and they didnt advise me where I can obtain this information.
So.....before I send my first official letter to claim back the PPI i feel i was mis-sold, do I need an exact figure of how much PPI I have paid so far? Or can I just claim it back and they will work the figures out for me?
I feel AA are being really secretive and are not giving me the correct information about the PPI on my loan. Even when I phoned them, they couldnt tell how much of my £168 per month was made up of insurance.
Before I claim, Id like a rough figure of how much PPI I have paid so far over the past 4 years.....surely AA should provide me with this info?
I don’t know what to do now?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.0
