I sent a letter to Sainsburys requesting a copy of the CCA I had with them.
I am no longer a customer, but I received a response saying:
"Unfortunately, I have been unable to trace an open credit agreement with the information provided. Please resubmit your request with a full history of your client's name and address; together with a valid agreement number."
Now what do I do?
Firstly, I did not write them on behalf of a client, I was writing about myself. This was very clear in my letter. I also provided my full name, dob and address. I do not have a 'valid' agreement number as I am no longer a client!
Unfortunately, I no longer have the old loan account number.
Don't know what to do now
Have you checked your credit report for the number?
If the account is closed they dont have to send you a copy of your agreement for a £1.
you may have more luck with a full SAR for £10DS1 12/10/04

I did check my credit report but, foolishly, forgot to look for a ref number of any kind. Doh!
I shall have to try and register with one of the others to get my 'free' report.
I assume there is a template on the site somewhere for the full SAR?February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Hi guys, Ive started the process of claiming back ppi on a loan I took with AA back in 2005.
I sent the following letter last week......
Dear Sir or Madam,
Account number: [insert account number]
I am writing to request a copy of my original loan agreement with AA Finance. If the original loan agreement does not include details of the insurance added to the account, such as the number and cost of any monthly payments or any lump sum fees and interest charges applicable to this fee, please attach or advise how I can get access to this information.
I look forward to your response within 40 days, as is obliged under the Data Protection Act 1998. If not I shall seek remedy from the Information Commissioner.
Yours faithfully,
XXXXX
Yesterday I reiceved a statement from AA which just showed how much I pay each month and how much of this is interest. There was no mention of PPI, and they didnt advise me where I can obtain this information.
So.....before I send my first official letter to claim back the PPI i feel i was mis-sold, do I need an exact figure of how much PPI I have paid so far? Or can I just claim it back and they will work the figures out for me?
I feel AA are being really secretive and are not giving me the correct information about the PPI on my loan. Even when I phoned them, they couldnt tell how much of my £168 per month was made up of insurance.
Before I claim, Id like a rough figure of how much PPI I have paid so far over the past 4 years.....surely AA should provide me with this info?
I don’t know what to do now?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Hello there,;)
First of all if you've no agreement, you can write to request they supply this by 12 days, you ask for a true copy of your CCA (Agreement), and enclose a small payment of a £1 postal order or cheque payment, post by recorded delivery.
For a SAR (Subject access Request), they have 40 days to supply all the information they hold on you as requested on the SAR, this one a payment of £10 should be enclosed, payable by cheque or postal order payment, here is the link of the SAR template here:

In regards of reclaiming PPI, you do not need to write in the amount of PPI, they have all the details on record and they will or should supply the breakdown with an offer, or you request for the breakdown after an offer, ask them to post you the full breakdown of calculations by post.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond with this, so basically keep on at them until they resolve in your favour, or until they issue you with the final response.

The final response should give you details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), if eligible you can take your complaint to these, if you not happy with the outcome of the final response.
Post all letters by recorded delivery, as this would be your proof of posting, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Please allow me a momentary rant: RBS
so - 2 weeks ago I received a settlement offer from RBS re a mis-sold PPI policy. I duly sent back my form and have waited for 2 weeks. Called them yesterday and they said, the cheque will be with you within 28 days.
TODAY - I receive a letter saying, pls go to your local branch with passport so that we can be sure of your identity! DUH - you have been corresponding happily for weeks. PLUS, could they not have said that in the first offer letter they sent 2 weeks ago.
OH NO! That would mean paying up earlier! Another way to waste time.
AAAARRRGGGGH!
OK, rant over!0 -
Busbyh was the different agreement you got signed?
No it wasn't signed. It was not our agreement. Ithought it was an updated version they had sent me. The original had the customer name printed clearly on the front. I noticed part way through - previous medical conditions section, there was actually another 2 names on it. It even had the nature of the illnesses - bad isn't it.

I've been talking to a company who offer a service for free with the support of solicitors - they add there fees on top! This sounded great but they are now suggesting that because the claim is quite large and it could take up to 12 months to sort out, that they make a 15% charge to 'speed things up'. They also say they have a good relationship with Firstplus.
Hi
Take amersall's advice. You do not need anybody to do this for you. Why pay somebody 15% or more:mad::mad:
I read somewhere the other day about these do gooders popping up. Don't be tempted. There are lots of nice people on here who will give you all the help and guidance on here.
You can do it;):rolleyes::money:

Even though the agreement wasn't ours it does prove that they have had to revise various sections and provide more detail than than obviously did with us.
Our loan was taken out in Mar 06, and it did not give full cost of PPi,only the cash price so I can only assume the copy they sent was a later version. I have notified FSCS and sent them both copies for them to
make comparisons.
When did you take out your loan.

We also took out our loan in May 2006, and have seen a Octobe 2007 agreement which was the same format as you are describing.DS1 12/10/04
