Thank you ... I hope it gets soretd soon.... al my 3 claims have been with FOS or FCSC over a year I think it would be lovely if I actually managed to win some-thing getting really dis-heartened now. laons.co.uk as been up-held twice by 2 different Adjudicators the first time in March 2009 and they are still giving loans.co.uk more time and it still hasn't been given to ombudsman which they told me it would back in June. and now this one (Ocean Finance) has got a Hold on it... not having much luck... The one with the FCSC for London Scottish is being dealt with they said but they have been saying that since February... now they are saying they have so many cases to deal with it could take upto 12 month after form went in so could be another 4 months yet as form didn't go in till November 2008. Sorry that is my moan for today... just a little fed-up with it all....I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year
Good-luck all

hello everyone
haven't been on here for a while, other problems, so on a different foram (but same great site).
i was about to say that i have given up on ocean finance ppi claim, but just noticed a post from -jadest-. i cant find the original post, so if someone can tell me more about this i would be greatfull.
jadest---hi what is happening with your claim, as i was told OF were in liquidation, so no claim to be made
cheers all
p.s-- could someone tell me how to get one of those signature things at the bottom of your posts (sorry i know its off subject)
Hi sorry only just seen your post... I didn't know that Ocean Finance were in liquidation.... The Adjudicator in my case just said that claims had been put on hold as Ocean Finance were re-assessing there possition in the matter. When did they go into liquidation? and I wonder why the Adjudicator didn't tell me that they had.I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year

Hi and welcome.;)
They should have still investigated by the 8 weeks.
Did you send back the questionaire despite not completing this and letting them know that you have not completed with your reasons.
If this loan was taken out within the last 6 years in England and Wales, Scotland 5 years they should hold your details within that time.
As long as 6 months have not gone by then I would go to the FOS and let them know you have not heard anything further from the business.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi jadest

Hi all..
bit of a lurker and never really felt compelled to do much about my finances.. mainly because I didn't realise I could (knowledge is power and all that!)..
I've had a number of loans through Egg and Barclays.. I don't seem to have the paperwork for the Barclays ones but do have some for the Egg ones..
Trouble is they date back to 1999 through to 2003 when I took out my last loan.. My main issue with each of the loans is that I didn't realise I could take the loan without the Loan Payment Protection (in fact I though they were doing me a favour as on some of the loans they put a 180 day excess period on as my work paid me in full for 6 months sick).. I certainly would have taken the insurance elsewhere! - I'm assuming this is an example of the miss-selling being referred to?
Now I have a couple of questions.. due to the age of the loans they're not covered by the stipulated period of miss-selling so does this mean it's not worth pursuing? I have the paperwork (incl. the agreements) for some of the loans but not all of them.. if I have the paperwork. and they don't.. is this strong enough evidence?
Do I need to submit the 'claim' for each loan seperately? Or should I include them in one 'job-lot' as it were?
EDIT: Found my Barclays loans and I took all these unprotected (believing I had enough other resources to clear loans - exactly the same circumstances I took my Egg loans out with!)0 -

Hello and welcome.
I would personally give them all a go, if you have the paperwork then that is fine.
If you were sold by a bank then you should be okay, claiming back further than 6 years, I was successful with one of mine (lloyds tsb) and that was a 2001 sale, yet some others on here have been successful with earlier reclaims.;)
With your reasons write to them and complaint, tell them you want the all the PPI you have paid, plus interest and an extra 8% interest of what a court would award.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond, keep at them until they resolve in your favour, or until they issue you with the final response.
The final details should give details of the financial ombudman service (FOS), if eligible you should be able to complain to the FOS, if your not happy with the outcome of your complaint.
Post all letters by recorded delivery.
More info on this link here with templates and checklist of mis selling reasons, if any of them occur to you as well as the reasons as you have posted in your above post add them as well.

You do not need to write the figures down at this point.
If you require paperwork for the ones you have not got now, you could actually request a Subject access request (SAR), however they may only go back as far as 6 years with your information, but again I was lucky to receive information on mine going back to the late 90's.
There is a charge of £10 postal order or cheque payment for this request, they must comply by 40 days, again post by recorded delivery.
Link to SAR template here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
If you no account number to put on the SAR, give them as much details as possible, to make it easier for them to track your information down, such as dates/year of when the finance was taken out, any different address at the time and surnames.
Hope this helps, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
