I think sometimes where are lots of people complaining about the same company and same complaint then from going by this site there is often a rush of redress's where I assume there is an agreement with FOS. I am not 100% sure but it certainly looks that way. I know of people that have had complaints in with certain firms (and not fast tracked) and they have had "goodwill gestures" without admiting liability. I assume its when there is a threat of a large fine perhaps.

Like I say, this is not 100% but just from here on this site and tracking....

    thanks for that
we will just have to wait and see what happens

Hi I am new to this Forum and have just left a message on the successes regarding EGG. I have just banked a cheque for £685 PPI refund all dealt within a month.
However, GE money (now Santander) are really messing me about. I have a Dorothy Perkins Account card -taken out in 1987 and a Wallis card taken out in 1996. They have admitted in writing that large amounts of data on my accounts have been lost but deny miss -selling as Creation Finacne actually managed the card sales then and they have no control over sales staff. Creation say thatthey passed everything over to GE Money (now Santander) - who inherited assets as well as liabilities. The letter from Santander is full of contradictions and factual errors. I have written asking them to re-consider. Has anyone out there had any success with GE Money?

I am having a nightmare with them too. My parents got a comet card, biggest mistake ever! They have somehow got 5account numbers though for 1 comet card. Its awful. Good luck and let me know how you get on. Sorry cant be more help but i am getting no where with them either, its looking like court action will be needed x
MY Successes = RBS PPI, RBS bank charges, Aqua PPI, Aqua cc charges, HFC PPI, Welcome Finance PPI, Blackhorse PPI Mums Ongoing= Swift Advances PPI, London Scottish PPI, Blackhorse chgs, GE money pyts missing

I had a real problem with these while trying to reclaim credit card charges
I wrote to them requesting details of charges added to the account under DPA.
They sent me a list of monthly opening and closing balances on the account.
When I wrote again to complain that they had not sent me the information I had requested they said the more detailed information on the account had been purged from their system and they had no way of getting it back.
I reported them to the ICO who investigated but found in their favour and said there had not been a breach of the DPA.
sorry I can not help any further but without the information I requested I could not even put in a Complaint.

    OMG!!
Had a call today from Deloites. They informed me that they are not responsible for any compensation that we are eligible to and can not understand why the FSCS have said that they have refered my case as priority to them!
Apparantly Deloites are only dealing with the main company in order to "put it to rest" and are not responsible for assessing PPI claims.
Was informed that it was FSCS responsibility to assess any compensation.
I am so mad. I have contacted FSCS and someone is supposed to be getting back to me. I will keep you all informed of outcome!!

I think I can help woth this.....
I called Delliotes when I heard from teh FSCS that my case was being outsourced to them. The problem is that they are responsible for the winding up Picture as well as dealing with the FSCS and so you very often get put through to the wrong department.

Delloites do not have an internal contact for us to contact and we all need to keep callingt the FSCS. I had a letter from Ms Mighella the FSCS Cheif Executive explianing this so DON'T PANIC!!

Things are moving along and now that the FSCS website has been updated there is no wiggle room left and they have to compalete all the cases that were in before the default date by Jan 2010, (my betting is OCT/NOV)

Barclays have advised they may not provide a final response for upto 7 months, as they're very busy with people reclaiming. However, I now have all the loan*PPI information from a SAR, should I work out the figures and contact them again - or can I take to the Onbudsman, without a final response?

    Hiya All,

I am wondering about claiming back some PPI charges from Capital One and have a couple of questions.

I have a credit card with Capital One that I took out online in Nov/Dec 2004 that I now owe £2300 on. I was sold PPI over the phone in the spring of 2005 and remember feeling pressured into accepting the sale. I don't remember being asked if i was or soon to be unemployed and I'm sure I would remember this as I considering leaving my job around that time. (I ended up leaving in August of that year.)

Do you think I should just write asking claiming a refund or should i ask for a breakdown of charges/SAR first?

Are the credit card companies required to get a signed agreement regarding the PPI insurance as I don't think I was sent anything to sign and return?

Thanks in advance for any pointers

Hello Gumbi, nice to see you back again, I am hoping OCT/NOV time too at least for first batch as I know some cases higher than a 250 reference number havent been passed across yet.
