Well I've just got home from 3 weeks in hospital to find a letter from the FOS saying that MBNA still do not agree with their decision but that they have agreed to refund the PPI money + interest + £200 compensation (as a gesture of goodwill of course). Personally I couldn't care less why they are refunding it just that I am getting it back so I'm absolutely delighted.

MBNA know they don't really have a leg to stand on with this single premium insurance but they still delay paying out for months on end.

    Hi all,

Today I phoned FOS Adjudicator re: my claim against Ocean Finance. She said that she had investigated the case and it was all ready to be relaesed but then they had instructions to put all claims against ocean finance on hold pending them making a decission about all there claims. They are having a re-think about what they are going to do...

I was wondering if this had happened to any-one else? and if there is a set time for cases to be put on hold?... or could this go on for a long time?

Any info at all will be greatly appreciated

    Thanks
I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year

    Good-luck all

Hi - could you tell me how long it has taken for your claim to be settled?

    Great news! Well done!

    Hi Portofino,

My claim against MBNA was started on 21st October 2008, so it's taken nearly 10 months to resolve. Personally I feel that the FOS give these companies too much time to mess people about, MBNA were supposed to respond to the Ombudsman by 11 March 2009 after my complaint was upheld, but they totally ignored that deadline. Whilst I'm delighted this has now been resolved (or will be when I receive a cheque, which MBNA reckon will still be another 8 weeks from receiving my acceptance slip), it does annoy me that people can be ignored for so long & no fines or anything can be forthcoming. I look forward to seeing if the interest at 8% is added from the time my complaint was upheld in February to now or whether they only include it to the former date.
