Have received replys from all the companies i have wrote off to.
Allaince and Leicester have said go to ombudsman. GE money and Ulsterbank (RBS) have said the same.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Any advice and help on this matter and where to go next would be gratefully appreciated.
    Cheers :D

    Hi there;)

have you now taken them to the FOS.
You will find many have been in the same position, and have moved this on for the ombudsman to investigate if this is the final response you received.

You can either ring for a form from the FOS or download and print one from their website, also remember to enclose a copy of the final letter with the complaints form.
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

Good luck and please keep us posted.

The alliance and leicester said that the PPC was applied after a telephone conversation on July 23rd 2003, although they 'are not required to record 100%' of their calls. Since i was on holidays and only returned on this date, should i ask them to prove this before i go to the ombundsman?
Please help me as my head is fried!!!
    Cheers

Whatever information you have you can provide to the FOS to support your case, there is no harm done asking if they can provide written confirmation on this.;)

Hi Jadest, glad to hear its moving on.;)

The standard is about 6 weeks, anything more is because the business has possibly requested for extra time to submit further information.

This can vary, from one company to another.

But keep in touch every other week, with maybe a quick email, they do not tend to send letters out to inform you all the time now, as I expect they have that many to deal with, its a time consuming issue as well, but an there is no harm done in emailing now and again, then they can keep you up to date this way, good luck and hope you hear soon with some good news.;)

Also only to say, if things start to get rather complicated and complexed, your case may also have to be moved on again, but this is procedure, for instance if the business does not respond within that timescale.

Hope this helps, all the best X

Thank you very much di that is really helpfull :dance:
I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year

    Good-luck all

Hi I emailed my MP again in reply to Gumbi's previous post and he today has faxed the FSCS with my email and asked them to rush my complaint up due to my impending repossession. We are due to move into our council house in a couple of weeks and cannot afford to turn it down as it is in an area that is quite good. Our worry is if we turn this down we could end up in a bad area. So it looks like it is too late for a final reprieve for us. But lets hope that the input from our MP's will maybe rush the FSCS up a bit. who knows Hope you are all well Dialysis

Hope you soon hear some-thing and get your money back Fingers Crossed :smiley::smiley:

    Hi Katkins,

A&L are everyone's favourite hit at the moment, and they're going to want to settle - expect a letter in around a months time.

    TBD.
I have just rang A&L on my friends behalf. (She has given me permission)
They have told me that as of yet they have not passed her case on to a case worker and have until the 24th of July to respond. But they said that she should receive a response before this date.

Let's hope your right TBD and A&L are settling within 7 weeks.

    I will keep you updated

They state that claims can take up to 6 months to resolve from time of Default and Christmas is just over 5 months a way, so they would have to hurry up on the Default issue if they want any claims sorted by then.
Quite agree with you dialysis this has taken much to long and I hope they are not sending out these Emails just to keep the peace and keep us quiet!

    Pinknico...
I'm with you on this one...It may sound like bad news but could actually be good news in disguise.

They do indeed say that it will take up to 6 months to resolve cases after Picture are placed in default which means that this must be imminent. This would explain why my contact has gone to ground as he may be waiting for the status to change.

I'd actually be very surprised if claims did take 6 months given what we all know about Single Premium PPI now and just remember that we're now waiting for a refund from the FSCS and not Picture which means:
    1. No messing about with appeals and delaying tactics once the decision has been made.
    2. No arguing about whether the money has to come off existing loans as I don't think Picture will have any say what we do with money awarded to us.
Personally I'd happily waiting a little longer if it means we don't have to P**s about after othe case has been won!

Yes Gumbi, I see your point and that makes things a bit more hopeful, would we get a letter to say Picture are in Default do you think? Thanks for keeping us all going on this long slog Gumbi you're a star. xx

  • Morning all.

To cut a long story short, I was mis-sold PPI on an HSBC graduate loan that I took out in 2003. The branch I used to hold my accounts with has now been consolidated with another branch under a different sort code, but I did go into that branch and get copies of my original agreements.

My question is, should I now write to this branch with my complaint and claim, or can I write to any HSBC? Seeing as the exact branch (Cross Street, Manchester) is not there any more, should I just be able to write to my Guildford branch?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Good morning and welcome.;)

Normally its the ones who sold you the finance you write to, so if you want to write to both with the same copies and see what they come back with, this way you are covering yourself, because you will receive a letter back I think from one of them stating you have to write to the other, but at least you have done this then.

If this is in regards of a reclaim, I take it you were mis sold?
Do you need help with this or are you already prepared with letters etc?

Good luck and let us know if you do require help.;)
