I recently put a claim in to my OH's co-op loan account to reclaim the PPI
The 8 weeks runs out on Monday. What do I do on Monday if I receive no letter or anything from them?
Thanks in advance :T
Hi nunnygirl
If you hear nothing, just as long as the 8 weeks have passed, you can then contact the FOS to ask if they can now investigate, its up to you, if you want to discreetly wait a little longer, you can always give the business a quick call to check as well if you wish.

Good luck, hope you hear soon.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
They state that claims can take up to 6 months to resolve from time of Default and Christmas is just over 5 months a way, so they would have to hurry up on the Default issue if they want any claims sorted by then.
Quite agree with you dialysis this has taken much to long and I hope they are not sending out these Emails just to keep the peace and keep us quiet!0 -
Hello,
I personally wouldn't go down this route. Firstly, did they sell you a joint or single life policy - if it's joint you've got them by the you know whatsits because you're covered as well, and there are onerous conditions for s/emp applicants on FP policies. I wouldn't mind betting that as they've done the interview with you, you're first named on the application - if the policy is single life - remember - it's the FIRST named on the policy thats covered. FP sales calls are all scripted to sell ppi so I reckon they've possibly screwed up here.
The next question to ask is, if it's your hubby who is first named, did he have full employers benefits such as sick pay etc - if he did - they haven't clearly identified a need for insurance under ICOB rules, and the policy is mis-sold.
Good Luck,
TBD.
Hi BigDog
My husband is the first named .... and boy oh boy are you right about the sales calls being scripted ..... I was cringeing listening to it and kicking myself that I fell for it hook, line and sinker!
OH does have full sick pay for 12 months with his employer and this question was asked and answered, but as we had no additional cover the PPI was recommended ... although the sales person asked if we had cover for the new loan (we were paying off a smaller one at the same time) thinking about it now how could we have cover for something that hadn't even been arranged. He did state it was optional but did not advise that we could seek this cover elsewhere.
We were under the impression that we were both fully covered but it turns out only OH has full cover and mine is life cover only.
Thanks for your comments they are really useful.0 -
Hey guys,
Just to update, got a reply from FOS. Came through much quicker than expected. Was just a standard reply to say they have recieved my complaint.
Will be waiting 6 weeks now as advised by di3004 (Thanks again), hopefully will get sorted soon as I have a trip abroad coming up.
Will report here with my results, hopefully it will helps others too.0 -

Hi there hun, hope your well, and thanks for posting with an update.;)
Give them a ring or send an email in a few weeks if you have not heard just for an update, as you know this can take some time before its moved on, probably one of the longest in waiting, but with a bit of luck, as soon as its passed on to the adjudicator, it will be dealt with by that 6 weeks, fingers crossed, this is normally the standard time, but can take longer if the business require for further time.
Fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hello all,
Just got my letter back from FOS but doesn't tell me how much A&L willing to pay back, on the letter goes like this,
Following our involvement, Alliance & Leicester has now told us that it will agree to settle your complaint, Whilst not agreeing that your policy was mis-sold. Alliance & Leicester is prepared to offer you a full refund of the PPI premium plus any associated interest, along with interest at 8% simple on any overpayments you have made up until the date the settlement is calculated. please note this offer is on a good will basis.
All i have to do is sign it and return but just want to make sure as there aren't any sums in this letter and what i will be getting back.
Thankyou in advance.

Hi Jimsta
Good news.:beer::T:beer:
In regards of refund calculations, Maxdp posted a link of how the FOS calculate refunds here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1596473
I would also contact the FOS and ask if he or she has the figures in front of them, so you could consider this.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I agree and to be honest am considering seeking some legal advice on this whole thing with Picture.
I am also in a position now where I am struggling to make the full momthly repayments to picture and my claim has been with the FSCS since july 2008. Prior to this it was with the FOS for 6 months, prior to that I had contacted Picture directly three months after I took the loan out!
My husband has been off work sick due to an operation and has to be off for at least another 12 weeks. The PPI covers him not me but its a joint loan.
I was reluctant to contact TWG who provide the PPI but did contact them out of curiosity to ask if they would cover the repayments. They informed me that as my husband was on a temporary contract he was not eligible for any payments to be made.
This has really angered me but has also strenthened my case. I am now getting to the point where I am happy for them to take me to court as surely any court would not state that this was fair:mad:
I will keep you all informed if I receive any positive legal advice0
