  • Thats what I thought, they wouldnt offer me half if didnt think they need to but half is better than the nothing I had last week?
  • Just an update further to my previous post about Cahoot - after sending them the standard letter I received a letter back from them over the weekend offering £2250 back for the PPI - so glad I challenged it!
Hoping for a calmer year in 2012

Your right there, the trouble is the banks have delayed payments out so much everyone needs the money now, i know i have had this myself i had to finally accept an offer from HSBC which i had in with a cmc from 2010 going nowhere and i've been trying to get a sar for 6 months so i think it really a lot depends on the individual.

Hi alexandra if the accounts are still live the banks have to comply with a cca request if the accounts are closed and paid up they don't, they do have to comply with a data protection act 1998 sar request though whether the account is live or paid up and no i would'nt just go away stand your ground.

I put in a claim with cap one as i am a civil servant etc, they gave me a final response saying that I had said yes over the phone when activating my card two years after having the card and that when i did i was within the criteria to claim. I wrote back saying no i never, and i have a copy of the agreement that states i did not want it. They wrote back saying tough we aint paying up, so now going to FOS.
    So annoying......:(
IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???
  • hi could someone please help with a little advice?? my mother has been registered disabled since 1986 she can never work again and has been paying ppi on her 3 credit cards since 2001 and still paying for it. My mother says that it was sold over the phone to her and from what she can remember is that it was in her best interests to have this. now do i have a good case to put this to them that it was mis sold to her and reclaim this back??
  • Hi, I'm hoping someone can advise me on what i need to do now re: ppi reclaiming. Last august we moved house and got rid of any paperwork that was 5 years old and over. I've gone through my bank statements online tonight going back to 2002. I have had 6 loans between then and 2010. All I have is the dd details, no account numbers :( They're with Cahoot, Abbey National, Black horse and Lombard bank. How would I go about getting the info I need, do i contact my bank or the lenders? Also will now having a different address make my claim invalid?
Thanks for taking the time to read this Lozziej :)

Hi wayne sorry to hear about your mother being disabled i know what thats like as i am also registered disabled after a stroke, yes with your mum being disabled she would have been excluded from claiming in a lot of respects namely employment, sickness etc, put a claim in you have very good grounds here.

Probably been answered before so sorry.
Had an offer on C Card PPI. They just use last 6 years records to work out the average payment over the time.
If i do a SAR will i be able to get records covering the whole 19 year period i had the card for and potentially been paying the PPI on?
    Thanks
