Hi just after some advice on claiming back mortgage ppi. On our first two mortgages with A&L and Cheshire BS we were told we had to have this as part of the mortgage no other option. Does this count as a mis sell. The one with A&L was through an IFA and Cheshire through their mortgage adviser. A&L would have been in 1997 and Cheshire 2003. If these are reasonable claims can I claim this far back. Will have to dig all my old paperwork out and check what info I have, but though it was worth checking here if I can do this. Many thanks.Claire0

Hi musky sounds like a misell and yes technically you can claim that far back how easy it will be will depend on the bank "finding" your records, good luck with this and you know where we are if you need help.:)0 -

Hello
Have started the process of claiming against Barclays for PPI that was mis-sold as part of their Select product.
I have had this product since Nov 1998 and do have all the paperwork that was issued by Barclays over the years.
I do NOT have a form where I was offered PPI OR accepted PPI so I believe it was not something I had a choice about.
I wrote to Barclays as advised on the MoneySavingExpert site and awaited a response.
Yesterday I received the response:
The letter from Barclays Ops Manager said that the Consumer Credit Act did not require that they provide the signed Original form of the credit agreement and that was their policy ...
They funny thing was they included an original signed credit agreement but not for me!
it was belonged to a different customer (!) AND for a different Product (!) AND from a different year!!!
I am shocked and amazed at the incompetence.
The customer who's data I was sent is now entitled to compensation due to this breach of the Data Protection Act.
I do wonder was my document sent to someone else ...
Anyone come across this situation before?
Slightly off topic but ... Shocking!

Hi Cappo, LTSB getting caught out again ?????
The article says...
"A Lloyds spokesman told Financial Mail: ‘We have not met our high customer service standards in managing her case and for this I can only apologise"
WHAT HIGH CUSTOMER SERVICE ????
The only service LTSB knows is ripping off their customers.
Anyway CAP Antonio is back so we can all start emailing him again with the complaints :rotfl::T0 -

Hi, this is another of Bob Diamonds JERKS as he puts it.
I would be very enclined to contact the person whose agreement it is so they are fully aware that Barclays have disclosed their information to you which as you say is a breach of the Data Protection Act. You may also like to inform the Information Commissioner as they will fine banks for breach of the act.
In the meantime go back to Barclays and demand your copy, then go ahead and claim every penny back from these JERKS0
