  • hi i took out a £5000 loan with tesco in 2008, repaid it in 24 months and of course had PPI, i think...i cant exactly remember i had unticked the box when i done the online application but then when i had the phone call to confirm the loan i was 'influenced' that PPI was a good idea...i cant find any of my paperwork but i do remember i was paying back £269 a month...is it worth claiming back my money. how much do you reckon i might get back? what do i do from now?

    Hi,
    Anyone help?
I am heaving trouble with HBOS. Complaint put in May, letter upholding August 27th.
Received a letter with redress on beginning of December and cheque for interest part of compensation round about the same time.
After a while I phoned to enquire when other cheques were coming, 2 advisors informed me I would receive them before 15th Dec, this date came and went I spoke to another advisor who told me that it can take up to 30 days from letter date this took me to christmas eve. I have taken into account xmas post etc, but think they are
    taking the p***!
I spoke to someone last week (I have been phoning on a weekly basis with regard to this and another matter) and I was informed that his manager has actually emailed the redress team regarding this, leading me to believe that the cheques haven't actually been dispatched yet.
When I ask to speak to supervisor/manager I get told it is not possible, anyone tell me what I can do next, surely they must be in breach of something as it clearly states when you phone about receiving cheques within 30 days!

    Many thanks

Hi irnbru i gave LTSB 7 days to pay me my redress when it was overdue or i would county court them and call in the bailiffs they paid on the 7th day.

Yes it's definitely worth claiming as the fact you were called on the phone makes this an advised sale put in a ppi reclaim form see link below for more info.

They want to delay and delay and delay, well maybe we should play them at their own game now and where these idiots wants to stuff about we just send a letter giving 21 days notice of legal action and see how long it takes them to pay out once everyone starts issuing court proceedings against them!!!

Try sending them a letter to that effect and see how quickly they respond :D

Hi kitty see my latest post above, the threat of county court action does work.

    Good to hear it! :j

Clearly shows that everything else is a delaying tactic and they do have the resources to sort these out and pay them quickly - they just dont want to and hope people will just give up when they delay

Anyone waiting on their payment should hit these guys hard and not take the banks nonsense!!!
Hoping 2015 will be a better year :)
  • Can anyone help I had a first plus secured loan in November 2003 to December 2006 I contacted them regarding my ppi claim as I believe I was miss old the insurance . They have written back today stating that Norton finance were the brokers for the loan and ppi insurance and to take it up with them .

I have contacted norton and they have no records of my loan and state I cannot claim as I signed on the dotted line in November 2011 over six years ago.

On advice from the financial omberdsman I am trying to find out the underwriters of my policy. First Plus state that on their documentation it is a company called Implement but no records can be found of this company and norton have no idea.

If anyone has a secured loan through norton finance with first plus in 2003 could you please check to see if it has the name of the underwriters on it as without it I cannot pursue my claim.

    Many thanks

    Hi Sarah

I also have a claim going against first plus - can you remember if you applied for the loan directly with them or through a broker as they state? If you took the loan directly with First Plus then your claim is against them.

My loan was in 2006 and at that time the PPI was underwritten by Barclays but sold by First Plus. hence im claiming directly against First PLus.

If no luck then you may have to complete a SAR against first plus to provide you with all of your paperwork so you can see if it was through Norton Finance as they state.

Good Luck and keep us posted.
Hoping 2015 will be a better year :)

Hi chuck best thing to do is to check the links below to see if you have a case although they should have given you the option of purchasing cover elsewhere

    Thanks cat kitty

First plus sent me a copy of my ppi agreement and it was with Norton finance the problem is there is no reference on there to the underwriters . First plus have told me the address I need to write to to get alan my documents so I think that will be my next step. My ppi was for £5000 so it's worth the fee to get the paperwork. Norton have been useless though
