You claim from Egg as they were the ones you took the loan out with.
Any redress may be used to reduce the arrears, dont know if this applys to debt sold on,someone may post to confirm this.

Thank you this is a very helpful start!

  • Hi everyone this is my first ever post but just wanted to share my story. My mum and dad took out a loan for a car (i am a bit sketchy on the details as I have never asked them for financial information!) approx £17k , a few years ago. My mum was going to go down the route of the 3rd party companies to get PPI back, however after receiving information the banks can deal with claims directly, she got in touch with Lloyds Tsb to put in her claim. She never heard anything for more thenn the 16 weeks she was told to wait, and I told her not to expect to much as the claim was a long shot anyway as she did not know if she had a chance. A few weeks after the 16 week period has passed she received a letter telling her she was getting back just under £7000! The money was in her bank within a few days :) :j
  • Hi everyone

just to update you got a reply from Barclays after e-mail sent to Bob Diamond. still insisting MS did not mis-sell ppi as it was a postal application - have asked for tape recording of MS advisor before application sent in post to them - not holding out much hope of receiving this so going to FOs now as well -- really fed up with these people - thanks to you all for your encourgement - will hang in there and keep you all posted  ...

    Hi All,

Another quick message, I sent capital one a letter saying I would like details of the original agreement with them, as I have a credit card with them from 2005-today and up until July this year it had PPI on it, the letter stated "Respond within 12 days" they have not done so. Can you advise what the next step would be?

I have submitted a refund claim to nationwide for £1060, will keep you guys posted on that. Thanks to all who have helped so far you have really encouraged me to keep going with this!

    Hi,
    Anyone help?
I am heaving trouble with HBOS. Complaint put in May, letter upholding August 27th.
Received a letter with redress on beginning of December and cheque for interest part of compensation round about the same time.
After a while I phoned to enquire when other cheques were coming, 2 advisors informed me I would receive them before 15th Dec, this date came and went I spoke to another advisor who told me that it can take up to 30 days from letter date this took me to christmas eve. I have taken into account xmas post etc, but think they are
    taking the p***!
I spoke to someone last week (I have been phoning on a weekly basis with regard to this and another matter) and I was informed that his manager has actually emailed the redress team regarding this, leading me to believe that the cheques haven't actually been dispatched yet.
When I ask to speak to supervisor/manager I get told it is not possible, anyone tell me what I can do next, surely they must be in breach of something as it clearly states when you phone about receiving cheques within 30 days!

    Many thanks

They want to delay and delay and delay, well maybe we should play them at their own game now and where these idiots wants to stuff about we just send a letter giving 21 days notice of legal action and see how long it takes them to pay out once everyone starts issuing court proceedings against them!!!

Try sending them a letter to that effect and see how quickly they respond :D
Hoping 2015 will be a better year :)

Did you send the Cap 1 request recorded if not I would send a duplicate letter.
On your Nationwide claim was it by telephone ?
Also do you have the address for Nationwide I am undertaking a claim but not sure which address if you have this info or anyone else I would be grateful

It is worthwhile being proactive with these claims and I am so thankful for the help from this site. Good luck with your claims

They are in breach of everything you can think of,FOS dont want to know,if you complain to them, this puts your complaint back down the cue,the FSA are just as bad,the regulators do jack!!!.
Just hang on in there, unless anyone else has another idea.

Hi, the letter wasnt recorded but was sent on the same day as two others and they have got through, I am thinking, as Capital One have already been fined to just send a letter requesting reimbursement of money paid to them, giving them an additional 21 days to respond. Someone stop me if you think this is a bad idea!!

Nationwide I believe was over the phone originally, the address I am corresponding with is
    Nationwide Personal Loans Team
    Nationwide Building Society
    Kings Park Road
    MoultonPark
    Northampton
