    Hi Sarah

    I also have a claim going against first plus - can you remember if you applied for the loan directly with them or through a broker as they state? If you took the loan directly with First Plus then your claim is against them.

    My loan was in 2006 and at that time the PPI was underwritten by Barclays but sold by First Plus. hence im claiming directly against First PLus.

    If no luck then you may have to complete a SAR against first plus to provide you with all of your paperwork so you can see if it was through Norton Finance as they state.

    Thanks cat kitty

    First plus sent me a copy of my ppi agreement and it was with Norton finance the problem is there is no reference on there to the underwriters . First plus have told me the address I need to write to to get alan my documents so I think that will be my next step. My ppi was for £5000 so it's worth the fee to get the paperwork. Norton have been useless though

    Sarah

    If the PPI was sold to you as part of the loan through First Plus then I understand that your claim is against First Plus and not Norton. However if it was Norton that arranged the loan then your claim will be against them and they should be able to trace you from your loan agreement reference.
    Hoping 2015 will be a better year :)

    Hi I am new to the forum and decided to try and reclaim my PPI.

    Some info I have been with a debt management company for 10+ years and have paid some creditors but still owe minimal amounts to others.

    I wrote to my catalogue as paid them off in 2010. They wrote back this morning stating- I did have PPI with them but account was opened Feb 1996 and last order was Aug 2000. They are using the time-barred argument as no PPI policy held since Jan 2005.

    Is it worth sending another letter stating that I only finished paying them in 2010. I had been employed for 8 yrs when took out insurance etc.

    Thanks in advance for any information

    Gill

    Yes gill i would do just that if your account was only paid in 2010 to my knowledge they can't use the 6 year rule.

    I have had credit cards for many years, but nearly always pay the balance in full each month. Am I still entitled to claim a PPI refund, although I've not taken out a loan?

    Hi downsman if you had ppi and you have reasons for believing you've been misold you are as entitled to claim as is anyone else.

  • Just to let you know, today I have received a letter from Lloyds to say that they will pay me for the 5 loans I have had with them where PPi was added. the total is £9,557.90, which is a great result.
    My story is:
    Late October put in a claim for mis sell on two credit cards (am civil servant, didnt ask for it etc) via email and added that I would like them to consider any and all loans I had had with them.
    letter received a few days later, saying had PPi on one card but not the other and also listed five loans, had no idea what these loans were or when (just cant remember).
    Just before christmas had a letter stating they will pay me for the credit card, and letter today stating payment for loans.
    Successes so far:
    Bank charges = £300
    Credit Card = £538
    Loans = £9557.90

    Barclaycard = £5884.17
    All of this came about because I fell off my horse and dislocated my ankle and had to spend days at home sitting about with nothing to do!!
    Best Break I ever had lol!!!
    Am very happy and all of this has cost less than £5 in stamps, Huge thank you to this site and especially Beamerguy and Cappo. Going to have a night at the dogs to celebrate.:T:T:T
    MARTIN LEWIS ROCKS:rotfl:
    IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???
