Update on my last Thurs Bank visit with my Neighbour - - To start with when he showed the Claim Form he had been sent, Sickness accident and hospitalisation she said they had sent wrong form and correct one included Redundancy - One up to us !!
Next I asked for Transaction List back to 6 months before Redundancy ( 1 Jan 2008 ) which is when he thinks the PPI was Phone Aggressivly sold at 8.30pm at night - I typed out a request for Transactions back to and including Jan 2008 excluding Aug, Sept and Nov 11 which we had and picked up Dec on visit. - They charged £5 and take 10 days - I know you said didnt need SAR but I needed to see how Bank Charges had impacted when only on JSA. Also asked for copy of PPI Agreement sold over phone - he hadnt signed anything. He has to go in and collect this Wed.
IMPORTANT NOTE For Helpers on this Thread Barclays tried to get my Friend to Fill in the Correct Form over the phone while there - which I stopped - said he hadnt decided which route. SO BEWARE - They are trying to reel people in before they realise what it happening.
I will be going up Mon to explain to him fully costs of both routes - I ask an extra question, what about the £8 Premiums he has paid for over 30 months unnecessarily plus 12 more they want = £336 if he activates on the Insurance that would have been paid after the Repayment 12 months of the Insurance if he had known about it and claimed when Redundant this is his money not Barclays. This will have to be shown that Barclays are not actually paying back as much as they say on an Activated Insurance. Instead of the 1,200 Barclays with him paying Interest and Premium
Another Extra Question - If he had activated Insurence when made Redundant what would Barclays have paid the 10% of, would it have been his last pay slip - they are offering now 10% of 1K Overdraft
Hi, it would be useful to know why you are doing all this for your friend, can he/she not do it themselves ?0 -
Hi,
No that's not the case I have just received all my paperwork from them and on the paperwork is this optional credit insurance basically need to know if that's basically the same thing
"optional credit insurance" seems to be a new phrase and not defining what it is ?
Please tell us what is covered by this "optional" insurance0 -
Hi everyone can anyone help me with how to get a copy of records dating back earlier that 2004? also can't remember how much was paid each month on the ppi but was rather a large loan. we feel confident that they were regulated being natwest. Can anyone help?? Hope everyone gets back whats due to them on here!0

Hi beamerguy
I am helping him because in his teenage years he admits to stupidly sniffing glue with the crowd he was with and this has left him with a disability which he keeps quiet about to others - namely that he doesnt properly understand things explained to him (doesnt always connect the dots up ) and he asked for my help to set up Electric Account when moved to temp accomm during a Council Refurbishment and I did the same for couple of others at the same time, Tenants near me often come to me for advice or help with an Organisation - they know I keep it to myself and trust me and appreciate any help given.
I have only put his details on here because it is unidentifiable - and because I have never been in his position financially and have come on here to make sure I get my facts correct. I hate to see anybody had over by Companies particularly Banks and Barclays are at it even now.0 -
Hi ammersall
He is picking up a copy of the Phone Sale agreement on Wed and I have told him to ask about any Record on disc of this Sales Call, as you suggested.
I have also found I needed Transactions back to Feb 07 instead of July 08 so have told him to say I made a mistake on request and to ask for the extra - Told him that if they tried to charge another £5 to tell them No it was part of original Request, so no charge. or I will challange
I suspected it would have been last pay slip and as you said they were short changing - I also found out this evening that his last pay was £190 p.wk so Boy are they short changing - also that when he went in to tell them he was made Redundant and to cancel all D/D to pay manually etc and thought Insurance was also cancelled after being told 'Dont qualify '
He also asked the 'Suit ' dealing if he could get some money on this as now Redundant and Redundancy money takes 6 weeks so no money at all to live on - was told that 'Didnt qualify'0 -

If I send the letter prior to receiving the cheque for the PPI will they just cancel it?
Worse still, if i cash the cheque...can they then say "Well you cashed it, so now you cant claim damages"
Everything's a bit confusing
Vindicated, you are aware you are not entitled to claim the PPI from any account pre-BR don't you? The money will go straight to the OR. See the thread on the BR board.

Only have limited info re Credit Card/Loan accounts
I have only got the last four digits of my historical credit cards/loans, obtained from Experian/Credit Expert. Will this be enough to put on my SAR letter?0 -

Not overly sure, just looked through the paperwork again and I have actually signed to have this cover so dont think its going to matter, ticked the box and signed for it! Idiot..... :-) Ah well better luck with Capital One and RBS....
Which leads nicely onto my next point, I sent Capital one the original letter asking for my paperwork (as per template asking for it within 12 days) and I have received no response what should I do now?0 -

Hi barny i'd call the bank and ask them for the full number if this doesn't work put the number of the account you had with the bank or the account where your payments came out on your sar letter and you should find they'll trace you.0 -
Hello Everyone,
I submitted a Claim to lloyds for misold loan insurance back in May of last year. In August i received a letter to say my claim had been accepted and I would be paid. Despited hundreds of phone calls, ive still not received any money or other letters! I ring them at least four times a week for them to say its still been calculated by the payments team, we've escalated it to our team manager etc to again hear nothing. I dont know what else to do, i've been waiting 5 months for a calculation. I know im not the only one but 5 months is a bit extreme I think. Any advice anyone?
Thank You,
Nicola0
