Hi all - just a quickie to say no news as yet on my Sainsburys claim which was submitted with the FOS in May 08. I know I'm not the only one waiting but it's now approaching the year annversary of me submitting that and I'm wondering if I should send them a card?!
from what I understand, they're just trying to clear the claims submitted in January '08

    Hi Di

All 5 loans were taken out and settled in the last 6 years, only one still running. I did have the documentation so was able to check the refunds were correct. 2 were Direct Line and 3 were RBS. They have settled 3 in full and the other 2 I sent to the FOS. Both Direct Line loans were sold by telephone and the the 3 RBS loans were sold by a Customer Advisor at the branch which is why it doesn't make sense that they have paid out on 1 DL and 2 RBS. They only sent me documents for the 2 loans on which they made the £750 goodwill gestures.

They made the offer and settled in Feb 2009.
they see just how much they can get away with (ie they settle 3 out of 5 and hope you don't bother with the other 2) - ps did you know Direct Line was owned by RBS ?

Just a quick update on my PPI claim against Loans.co.uk and chasing up the FOS. I finally managed to speak to the adjudicator who had dealt with my claim and had passed it on to the ombudsman back in August. He assured me that my case would be dealt with within the next few days (I spoke to him last Thursday) as 2 others relating to the same company had been dealt with and mine should be next. He did say that he'd update me daily (he hasn't!) and I'm waiting patiently now to see whether I do actually get a letter with the ombudsman's decision. I'm not building up my hopes - I'm not a lucky person!!! - but will be over the moon if the ombudsman does uphold my claim. The adjudicator found in my favour so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

Also received a letter last week from RBS regarding a PPI claim against a NatWest loan. They advised me that they have been unable to uphold my concerns and have offered, 'as a gesture of goodwill and without any admission of liability' the princely sum of 274.56!! (Lost my pound sign when computer crashed last week!) I'm now going to pursue a claim through the FOS. Got nothing to lose and possibly everything to gain. I live in hope!!!

Have posted on the success board today!! I received an offer from RBS/NatWest of 2,775.60 pounds 'as a gesture of goodwill and without admission of liability...' The offer mentioned above (274.56) was for a previous loan and I couldn't remember how much it was for so I did accept that. I was pleasantly surprised (actually over the moon!!!) with the second offer and needless to say I've accepted. Just a waiting game now until it goes into my account.

I'm happy with the outcome though and now just waiting to hear from the FOS with regard to the Loans.co.uk claim. And waiting, and waiting, and waiting.......................

Hi was this note for me?!! (Hope so!)

The only info I have is on the original letter:

    Principle loan - £15,600
    Loan Payment Protection - £1467.65
    Total amount - £17067.65
    Interest rate 7.9%

I have been paying £300 per month recently - I took a one month payment break yonks ago - before that it was £296 per month. The first payment was taken in May 2003. Oops sorry meant to say it was a 72 month loan.

    Hope that helps.

    H x

Right--Lets assume £296 per mth for 72 payments from May 2003 to April 2009

The amount of PPI is in the ratio of the PPI/TOTAL Loans--1467/17,067 = 8.6% so 8.6% of £296 is £25.44

Total paid for PPI (incl interest on the £1,467) is 72 at £25.44 = £1,831
Add 8% on each pymnt from paid date gives an extra £435

Total to be refunded = £2,266

    Hi All,

Thanks for everybodys help and advice particularly Di3004, just though id keep you updated. Sent my initial reclaim letter to Lloyds/Halifax and Capital One on 09March, to date have had replies from Lloyds and Halifax saying they are looking into it but havent heard anything from Capital.
Not sure if it went to the correct address, I sent it to

    CAPITAL ONE BANK PLC.
    PO BOX 5281
    NOTTINGHAM
    NG2 3HX

Should I wait until the 40 days is up before sending next letter? If it has gone to the wrong address should i resent original letter again and would anyone know what the correct address is??

    Many thanks xx

Hi there......I sent my Cap One letter to:

    PO Box 5283
    Nottingham
    NG2 3YJ

I would've thought that the address you sent it to will be ok though.

I sent the stage one letter on 23rd Feb and got reply 14th March....standard fob off letter!!!!

Don't give up, I've replied to them with a SAR as they advised me that PPI was sold to me during a telephone conversation in August 2008 but my account has been open since August 2002!!!!!!!! They've tripped themselves up already........

Good luck with it and like I said....don't give up!! ;)

I have now reported them to the Information Commissioner and also the FO.

I received an acknowledgement from the FO but nothing esle.Feb 2009.

Did you have anything remaining on the loan to pay, have they knocked anything off the outstanding balance ?

Hiya, the loan is still in force and no they have not reduced the balance... This is now starting to concern me

Hi am sure that Tiggrae will be back on later to advise. In the meantime ask them for a breakdown of how they sorted this out.

In my experience one of the lenders messed me about a lot whilst the others paid up within the six weeks and gave a good description of how the figures were worked out.

You just have to keep on to them.:D
