• Hi there

I hope you can help. I've just read the article on reclaiming PPI on credit cards and think my husband probably has a case against Egg but we are worried if we write and complain they will close his account and ask for outstanding balance paying (which we definitely cannot afford to do). Is this the kind of thing that is happening?

Thanks!

Hi, they may reduce the limit on the card, but if you are not in arrears and you win mis sell, the refund should come to you.

If Barclays took over your card you put the complaint into them.
• I have been going through a barclaycard ppi reclaim on the basis i was 100% told it would help my application for the card if i took it out,
and i had know idea what ppi even was back then..

I have had the standard rejection letter that i see a lot of others have also had no evedince of mis sale and you cant contact fob as it was taken out before a certain date..

I have now obtained a copy of my credit agreement which i signed within a small section on the credit agreement it states in there wording
"yes i want ppi added to this policy" and then it goes on to state what it covers...
Thats it nothing else No tick box option and nothing to sign separate for the ppi making it look even more compulsory to me considering what i had already been told on the phone regarding it will help my application..

Also this original copy has reminded me i had only been working with the company at that time for 3 months would i even have been covered for unemployment in those conditions..

Any tips on what to do next or how to word my next letter would be great thanks...

I beg to differ,i ,and others on here, have had claims where ppi was claimed on and got full redress with the money claimed taken off, there may be other reasons for mis sell,i hope newbies dont read this and not bother putting a claim in for mis sell of ppi.

Hi AMERSALL, could you point me to these as I really cannot see a company repaying premiums after a successful claim against the policy has been made

Hi, if you were not given an option to opt out, that in itself is miselling and for the salesperson to say it would help your application is a lot of rubbish. Go through this check list
Then email Bob Diamond the CEO robert.diamond@barclaysplc.com

Seems like you might be able to tick a few "NO's" here.

*Did YOUR BANK explain the full cost of the PPI when you took out the loan?
*Did you specifically ask YOUR BANK for PPI?
*Did YOUR BANK make clear that PPI was optional?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about your medical history?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about any existing payment cover?
*Did you know that YOUR BANK added a PPI policy to your loan?
*Do you think YOUR BANK treated you fairly?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you have any existing medical conditions?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you were entitled to sick pay from your employer?

If you answered no to any one of the above you could be owed thousands of pounds

Difficult to know on what grounds they would close your account apart from being vindictive. That would be classed as unfair practice and the FSA and FOS WOULD TAKE A VERY DIM VIEW OF THIS.

Go ahead, make your claim. The worst scenario is they request the outstanding balance to be repaid. I can tell you that if this went before a judge in county court, you would win plus costs

Well after four letters two of which I did'nt know I had PPI on I have had a settlement.

CitiBank have turned my complaint around in under 4 weeks. I called them for an updte ad they informed me that a cheque was being raised fora refund of all premiums, interest on those premiums and 8% statutory interest. Very helpful people on the phone.

Next I called HFC Bankpart of HSBC well they were cowboys when I was sold the loan through Beneficial finance. They sold me PPI when I already had it, I was not given any info, exclusions etc so thats another under investigation.

Next First Response who are very "vague" and said they didnt sell PPI but was Bank of Scotland so another under investigation.

And finally I made a speculative phone call to blackhorse about a small loan in 2005 which was settled in 2008. I asked whether Ihad PPI on it and he said well the PPI box is ticked. I was sold the loan over the phone and just went into sign so knew nothing about the PPI and given nothing. So the man from blackhorse said to fill the form in and send it off.

Paid out so far:

£6505.77

Hooray for the littleman!!!!!!!!!

WELL DONE but you know with forums like this, we are no longer little, the banks will read these forums and it must be scaring them to death as we actually have so much power now, all thanks to Martin and MSE

Don't give up, remember these Banks stole money from you so THEY ARE WRONG ---- YOU ARE RIGHT

Antonio Osario returns to Lloyds Bank in the New Year ?

As the LLoyds Banking Group are now a disgrace regarding repaying PPI refunds, the wrath of the people will mean that Osario will be hit with a new wave of angry complaints ????

Is he ready for this or will he go sick again ???

Whichever way, Lloyds are in for a very bumpy ride in 2012 if they don't get their act together
