Money Supermarket.com are agents for all services they offer, they provide the quotes and whoever you decide to go with, they earn a commission, They will not refund you, the company must do this.

This must be the worst "fob off" I have read on here
The op needs the refusal from MS to show that FP have not acted fairly.
This ppi is a win regardless of who sold it,so waiting for a response will be no detrement to the ops claim.

Just so you know..if the ppi is through Barclays of dublin the commision FP would have made on the ppi is 70%,less what they gave MS.

Thankyou to cappo, beamerguy and amersall for their help. Have contacted my bank to post me relevant statements with the loan account details on - great idea amersall!
Also have a claim in with HSBC, who tell me that there is a 12 week lead time, is that correct?
You are very welcome :D if you put your claim in on or after 1st September it will be responded to within 12 weeks.
  • Hi Guys I'm about to start my claim with bcc I know this is going to be a tough battle so any advice would be very much appreciated.

    1. I started my card in sept 1999

    2. After requesting a copy of my original tc for the £1 fee as per your template letter (thnx amersall) I have been sent a (reconstituted ?) copy of my original tc but no copy of my original agreement was enclosed.

    3. There is no mention whatsoever of ppi anywhere in these tc, no tick boxes or signature boxes etc.

    4. After requesting a £10 SAR from them using your template letter I received a full copy of all my statements going back to 2005 (6years worth) and that is all..........

Can you see any problems with the above and if so can you advise me through these thank you. :o
  • Hi Guys

I have contacted Cahoot with regards to the mis sold ppi i had for a flexi loan. I have sent them a letter by recorded delivery which has been delivered as per Royal mail tracking system. Unfortunately i haven't a reply.

The letter detailed all of my account details and the reason for claiming etc but as yet i have not had a reply.

Could you advise me or point me in the right direction as to what i should do next???

    Thanks

    Hi Everyone

Just looking for some guidance/advice. I was recently sent a cheque for 3.2k for the ppi refund on my credit card. However, having looked at the simple breakdown that I was sent, I believe that the refund for the ppi, doesn't take into account how long I have had my credit card. I have had the credit card for 8 years and it was maxed out, but only got a PPI refund for 1.4k, which seemed low considering how long I have a card.

Not that I am trying to be greedy, but I have asked halifax for a more detailed breakdown i.e. what date the calcs were calculated from, however I am yet to receive this. I spoke to customer service and they said that the above cheque is mine and that I can cash it. However, I am reluctant to do this, as once I do this, they may see this as accpeting the refund. I have Halifax to look into this again, but I am yet to receive any response, but I was told in other words that I would probably need to take it to FOS. What annoyed was the fact that mistakes can happen and all I want is for someone to re look into the issue again and if they still think I have been paid correctly, then I will make the decision as to whether I want to take it to the FOS?

Has anyone else here gone through the predicament where you believe the refund calcs are incorrect and what did you do? I'm not trying to be greedy, but only want back what I am truly owed?

    Thanks
  • Hi everyone

and thanks to campo, your advice helped in my PPI claim to Santander. Was sent an offer and the interest is nearly as much as the PPI. Considering I cancelled my PPI during the loan I am pleased with the amount.....will post here once the wonga is in my bank account.

But another question, one of my relatives had PPI on a mail order catalogue. They too cancelled it, then it mysteriously reappeared but as they were going into hospital for an op they left it on there and claimed on it. Now my question is, can she do a PPI reclaim? just wondering cos they had claimed on it???

hope someone can respond to this for me.

Well done on your claim, re your relative, if they claimed and the policy worked ok, they cannot claim, they have had the benefit

PPI claims are only applicable to fraudulent policies designed not to pay out

HOW RUDE ARE NATWEST ??? Well they get it from the RBS ?

THEY CANNOT IGNORE A SAR --- PERIOD

Email the CEO Stephen Hester and start by saying

"You seem to be under the misconception that you are above the law. I requested and paid for a SAR and that is what I expect you to provide me by return under the Data Protection Act"

THIS IS THE MAN WHO SHOULD TRAIN HIS STAFF PROPERLY

    Good morning

I sent the following to Nat West a few weeks ago

I am writing to request a copy of the credit agreement for the above account under sections 77−79 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. I enclose payment for £1. I would also like to request a copy of the terms and conditions that were applicable to the above account at the time as I no longer have a copy and would like to check some of the details.

I have also enclosed a £10 payment for a FULL breakdown of my account.
Please note that my address at the time was *******************************.

I look forward to a response within 12 working days.

    Yours faithfully,

The response I got was as follows :

Your request for documents contains some misconceptions about your entitlement to information in a specified form and our obligations to supply that information.

As you are aware this account has been fully repaid, and therefore, there is no active agreement between NatWest Creadit Cards and you with regards to the above account.

The Consumer Credit Act is for active agreements and therefore there we are under no obligation to provide you with the requested documents as your obligations to us under the agreement have ended.

I trust the above clarifies matter for you.

    Are they right ?

I thought I was still entitled to a full breakdown of my account ?

The strange thing is that they have sent back the cheque for £1 with the letter but not the one for £10.

Thanks guys for all your help.

Armed with a little knowledge I called Nat West. Did not manage to get hold of the person who wrote that letter but someone in customer services who was very helpful & promised to provide me with the information I required ASAP.

The strange thing is that Customer Services has no record of actually recieving my letter or having sent out a response !!!

Is Nat West just sending out letters hoping people will just take there word as gospel & go away ?

    Once again thanks guys.
