    Hi Guys

I have contacted Cahoot with regards to the mis sold ppi i had for a flexi loan. I have sent them a letter by recorded delivery which has been delivered as per Royal mail tracking system. Unfortunately i haven't a reply.

The letter detailed all of my account details and the reason for claiming etc but as yet i have not had a reply.

Could you advise me or point me in the right direction as to what i should do next???

    Thanks

I sent my PPI claim off to Cahoot in mid-November by registered post, and have not received a reply either.

When did you send yours, and to what address? (Mine was a PO Box in Bradford).

I've been told they have 12 weeks from date of delivery to review the case - perhaps they are just really slow to act.
  • hi just a quick question, am I able to claim on a barclay credit card that I openend in sept 1999
  • Well after four letters two of which I did'nt know I had PPI on I have had a settlement.

CitiBank have turned my complaint around in under 4 weeks. I called them for an updte ad they informed me that a cheque was being raised fora refund of all premiums, interest on those premiums and 8% statutory interest. Very helpful people on the phone.

Next I called HFC Bankpart of HSBC well they were cowboys when I was sold the loan through Beneficial finance. They sold me PPI when I already had it, I was not given any info, exclusions etc so thats another under investigation.

Next First Response who are very "vague" and said they didnt sell PPI but was Bank of Scotland so another under investigation.

And finally I made a speculative phone call to blackhorse about a small loan in 2005 which was settled in 2008. I asked whether Ihad PPI on it and he said well the PPI box is ticked. I was sold the loan over the phone and just went into sign so knew nothing about the PPI and given nothing. So the man from blackhorse said to fill the form in and send it off.

    Paid out so far:

    £6505.77

    Hooray for the littleman!!!!!!!!!

Hi Guys I'm about to start my claim with bcc I know this is going to be a tough battle so any advice would be very much appreciated.

    1. I started my card in sept 1999

    2. After requesting a copy of my original tc for the £1 fee as per your template letter (thnx amersall) I have been sent a (reconstituted ?) copy of my original tc but no copy of my original agreement was enclosed.

    3. There is no mention whatsoever of ppi anywhere in these tc, no tick boxes or signature boxes etc.

    4. After requesting a £10 SAR from them using your template letter I received a full copy of all my statements going back to 2005 (6years worth) and that is all..........

Can you see any problems with the above and if so can you advise me through these thank you. :o
Hi,with the statements they have sent you,is insurance shown as a seperate payment?,if it is, copy all the statements and send these with your claim for mis sell to Barclaycard, the account number will be the cc number.
Look here for reasons for mis sell
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-credit-card-insurance#step2

If there is no monthly insurance on the statements, then you have no ppi.

Re the copy agreement they sent you, this is all they have to provide, they dont have to give you the original, just because ppi is not on the agreement, does not mean this was not added when you phoned to activate the card.

If you put a mis sell claim and only have the 6 years of statements, that is what they will redress if you win, before you put the claim in,give them a ring and ask why they have only given you 6 years of statements in your SAR,if you paid ppi they may have them further back, but only want to pay out the 6 years!.

You need to ring and ask what is happening to your claim, you have proof it was delivered if they say they have not recieved it,you should have at least had an acknowledgement after 14 days.

    Hi Everyone

Just looking for some guidance/advice. I was recently sent a cheque for 3.2k for the ppi refund on my credit card. However, having looked at the simple breakdown that I was sent, I believe that the refund for the ppi, doesn't take into account how long I have had my credit card. I have had the credit card for 8 years and it was maxed out, but only got a PPI refund for 1.4k, which seemed low considering how long I have a card.

Not that I am trying to be greedy, but I have asked halifax for a more detailed breakdown i.e. what date the calcs were calculated from, however I am yet to receive this. I spoke to customer service and they said that the above cheque is mine and that I can cash it. However, I am reluctant to do this, as once I do this, they may see this as accpeting the refund. I have Halifax to look into this again, but I am yet to receive any response, but I was told in other words that I would probably need to take it to FOS. What annoyed was the fact that mistakes can happen and all I want is for someone to re look into the issue again and if they still think I have been paid correctly, then I will make the decision as to whether I want to take it to the FOS?

Has anyone else here gone through the predicament where you believe the refund calcs are incorrect and what did you do? I'm not trying to be greedy, but only want back what I am truly owed?

    Thanks
Unless you have statements to show you paid ppi previous to the 6 years, then they only pay you for the 6 years, also they work out the 8% different with a credit card, this may be why it is low,if you have proof of ppi before this time, then send copies back to them and ask that they look at the previous years.
Cash the cheque as as that is the redress for the 6 years they have given you.

    Hi everyone

and thanks to campo, your advice helped in my PPI claim to Santander. Was sent an offer and the interest is nearly as much as the PPI. Considering I cancelled my PPI during the loan I am pleased with the amount.....will post here once the wonga is in my bank account.

But another question, one of my relatives had PPI on a mail order catalogue. They too cancelled it, then it mysteriously reappeared but as they were going into hospital for an op they left it on there and claimed on it. Now my question is, can she do a PPI reclaim? just wondering cos they had claimed on it???

hope someone can respond to this for me.
Your relative can put a claim in for the mis sell,if they were mis sold,if you get a upheld the amount they claimed will be taken off the win.

On the other hand,if a claim for mis sell is put in and they realise this ppi was cancelled, they may want all the money back that your relative claimed, the choice is up to the relative, but they may end up losing out.

Well done on your claim, re your relative, if they claimed and the policy worked ok, they cannot claim, they have had the benefit

PPI claims are only applicable to fraudulent policies designed not to pay out

I beg to differ,i ,and others on here, have had claims where ppi was claimed on and got full redress with the money claimed taken off, there may be other reasons for mis sell,i hope newbies dont read this and not bother putting a claim in for mis sell of ppi.
