    Hi guys

I've received a letter today from HSBC UPHOLDING my complaint about a Loan and Credit Card. They have stated that they are unable to calculate figures as they are both older than 6 years. They have asked if I can provide evidence/statements showing PPI. I don't have this info as the Loan was taken out in 1998 and the Credit Card was taken out in 1996 and closed in March 2005. I provided them with Account numbers and PPI policy numbers.

I thought Banks were giving "Average Payments" for details that they no longer hold? I know LTSB are

Any ideas if I will get an average payout or do I need to raise further with FOS?

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Any suggestions would be very helpful

    Thank You much x x x

VERY VERY ODD ???? How can they uphold if they dont know the amount ???

The FSA make it clear that it is not on the onus of the consumer to provide this information.

You need to ask them what they have upheld and the amount

  • Hi all
Newbie here, just wanted to ask a quick question, apologies if not in correct place!
I sent off my complaint to Halifax re our Mppi - on 16th November, got an acknowledgement letter 2 days later and then a phonecall on 25th Nov to check further details. ( about our sickness benefits, pension etc) The reason I put in complaint is because the advisor did not ask any questions re this at the time of the mortgage application, both my husband and I have sick benefits though work ( both have 6 months full and then 6 mths half pay) I also have critical illness benefit through work, and we both have death in service pensions ( mine is quite comprehensive through work)
I always just thought it was part of the mortgage until last year when I was going through all paperwork, so was paying £78 per month...( dim i know!) I believe this wouldn't have been any help to us if we had tried to claim against sickness due to our benefits from work. Is this right or am I wrong?
Anyhow I haven't heard anything since then, would you think this is being upheld? I know its only been a couple of weeks but would they write sooner to say rejecting complaint?

    Many Thanks

    Caroline
  • Hi everyone I am new and not sure if I am posting in the correct forum.

I have made a claim from the Halifax and received an offer letter today of £2882.08 however on the letter it says that this will be paid into the account which is still open, then it says subsequently if I have not yet received it a cheque for this amount will be forwarded under separate cover. Also in the letter it says that if only the minimum amount has been paid on the account then that amount would have been paid by me anyway.

Does this mean that all of it will just go back into the account to bring down the total of my account?

Apologies again if this is in the wrong forum.

    regards
  • Barclaycard PPI Refusal:

    Hi,

Looking for some advice if possible please?
I have today received a letter from Barclaycard to say that they are unable to uphold my complaint and that they will not enter into any further correspondance in this matter and refered me to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
I was claiming back mis-sold PPI on my credit card payments, their reply to me was "We have identified that your application for PPI was submitted by post. At the point of applying for PPI, the process required you to select the specific type of cover you required. In this case you positively selected the product".
They never sent me a copy of the application, am I entitled to see this?
I am certain that I never signed up for any PPI (I never had with any other cards / loans) but am unsure how to go about this now that they are refusing to have any further correspondance with me.
Is the best thing just to go direct to the FOS or try Barclaycard again?

Also, I am unsure of exactly how muc PPI I had paid on this card, can I ask for that as well?

I had the card from 2004 until it was settled in Dec 2010.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated?

    Many thanks

Halifax are talking "Donald Duck" language, you must clarify what they are saying and mean

Hi and welcome, look whoever wrote this letter to you is one of Barclays "JERKS" WHO BOB DIAMOND WANTS TO GET RID OF, see my post earlier

LOOK AT THE CHECK LIST and if you can answer NO to one or more, you were mis-sold and you can claim all PPI payments plus interest.

BARCLAYS ARE NOW PROVING TO BE A BANK NEVER TO TRUST

*Did YOUR BANK explain the full cost of the PPI when you took out the loan?
*Did you specifically ask YOUR BANK for PPI?
*Did YOUR BANK make clear that PPI was optional?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about your medical history?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about any existing payment cover?
*Did you know that YOUR BANK added a PPI policy to your loan?
*Do you think YOUR BANK treated you fairly?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you have any existing medical conditions?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you were entitled to sick pay from your employer?

Hi, for them to ask those questions means maybe there are considering, only way to find out is to ask them
