Well that probably changes things then, looks like you had them bang to rights
Well, I have to say that when I first filled out the form, I came on here and everyone said to have a go, & I'd mentioned the circumstances and reasons I was going to list. But I didn't ever think I'd succeed because of the claim I'd had. Then I read the bit on the site that talks about that type of thing, & it said there that there was no reason not to claim, especially as my circumstances had changed & they wouldn't let me cancel it, and in the section that i filled in I said that I had claimed simply because it was available and that i was forced into having the insurance - kind of seemed silly not to take advantage of it really. Having said all that, I don't want to upset the apple cart, & I wondered if by sending in more statements or sending in a SAR if that would negate the present decision? Difficult.....sort of, I have the option of either sticking with what i've got or trying for double....0 -

Like you say difficult. I don't think submitting more ammunition is going to change their minds, taking your post into account above, they have put their hands up, it's a case of do you just submit what you have or SAR and push for more. It's your call :cool:Successes

I'd like to find out what a SAR would show. If it would show all the previous payments etc then it would be well worth it. Would it be worth phoning the FOS or FSA, would they know? I'm not going to waste my time if its a non-starter, but on the other hand if there's a couple of grand in it, and if I knew i could get the info, I could be tempted...0 -

The FOS or FSA wouldn't be able to tell you, they have upheld your complaint and made an offer. I personally don't think a SAR will give you much more information than you already have, bear in mind they do only have to keep records for 6 years and a SAR will only turn up what an office "temp" can lay their hands on without too much diggingSuccesses

I agree with dilus, you may open up a can a worms and lose your claim. just enjoy what they are sending you0 -
Well I emailed the FOS for an update and haven't received any acknowledgement or response. I've just found the email in my webmail and resent it from my work email so hopefully I will see a response one way or the other. Over the weekend I'm going to send them a letter as well.
I know they're dealing with 1000s of claims, but when their letter says you can email them with your reference I think it's only fair they should at least acknowledge it even if they can't commit to anything.
I need to check all my dates and get them noted so I can keep track of how long it's taking.SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

Well done :j:j
You will get the total ppi back plus 8% on each ppi monthly payment that you made to the date they redress.
When you finished the loan they would have given you a rebate for the ppi and this they will deduct from the redress.
Thanks for your reply, i think it becomes slightly more tricker as Tescos are saying that they cant find any records of me, even though i have provided them with my credit file details etc and a letter form my previous Bank acount, confirming that the were paying a direct debit to Tescos personal Finance to the Tune of £851 per week.
I will keep you informed of any progress on this.Current debt:

Does anyone know what it means if your return envelope is marked with a green highlighter from HSBC? I assume it's the team dealing with it?0
