Hi, all is not lost, do you have the PPI policy ? Would the policy have suited your requirements in a claim

hi .. i dont have the policy but i,m pretty sure it wouldent have suited me in a claim .. my circumstances have changed many times , mostly for the worse and i havent been able to make a claim as far as i know

You will not be able to question them without the policy and they will not accept you saying that it would not suit your purposes unless you can prove it
  • Through this website, I put in my PPI claim on a loan from Barclays as well as on my Barclaycard which have been accepted. However like many comments on here its the lack of information as to when the payments will be made that is the issue. Last night I found out via calling them that in spite of Barclays receiving my signature of acceptance it actually closed down my claim before making the payments. My advice to myself and others is to check that signature forms have been received by the banks (maybe recorded delivery?) and yes, its costly to call them but please persist. Barclaycard informed me that they are obliged to make the final payments after 8 weeks after receipt of signature. Im not sure this is correct. I do think that the delays on their part is deliberate

My acceptance letter from Barclays was the 13th October and I sent them back the acceptance form with my signature. Rang them yesterday and they claim not to have received it thus shutting down my claim. Luckily I was able to froth at the mouth to them and it has been restarted now and have been told settlement will be by the 9th December. Hmmmmmm.
  • Using the template letter from MSE I sent off to Egg asking for the original paperwork for my previous loan from 2006 and a subsequent top up loan. I know the account number of the original loan but not of teh top-up loan. Here's their response:

Thankyou for your recent request for an executed copy of the credit agreement account number ******** with egg Banking PLC under section 77(1) of the Consumer Credit Act.
As the account you refer to is now closed I have to inform you that Egg are under no obligation to comply with a request for a copy of the executed agreement under the Consumer Credit Act as we no longer have a contractual relationship relating to this account, nor are we seeking to enforce any agreement on the account.
The right to be provided with this information from Egg Banking Plc ended with the closure of this account.

As Egg are not willing to give me any information relating to the original loan, or even give me details of the 2nd loan for which I have no paperwork or account number to hand, where do I go now?

    Thanks
  • Hi, does anyone know roughly how long it's been taking HSBC to make payments following receipt of your acceptance letter?
I have seen the horror stories with Lloyds and Barclays and I'm hoping they are not the same!
  • Hi, I am also waiting for the money to be paid by my bank - the acceptance letter was dated 21 September. I have now been waiting for 9 weeks - they said in their letter that I would receive payment within 40 working days (approx. 2 months). I have called them twice and they apologised and said it could take another 2 weeks due to high volume of claims. I called the Financial Ombudsman to ask where I stand, and they said that the banks can postpone for a few weeks. If I haven't received my money by next week, I can contact the Ombudsman and they are willing to send a letter on my behalf to the bank to hopefully speed things up.
    Hope this is helpful.

    Good afternoon all.

I was wondering if there was anyone who could provide me with some help in the caclulations of redress.

I have spoken to FOS today who have confirmed thet Tesco Personal Finance have confirmed to them that they acknowledge that i was miss-sold a PPI back in 2004 that was attached to my personal Loan,

    Amount of Loan £25,000
    PPI £5,350
    Period 36 months.

The loan was paid off after 16 months, according to my credit file, and was wondering how will they calculate the redress on this.

    Any assistance would be appricieated.
    Well done :j:j
You will get the total ppi back plus 8% on each ppi monthly payment that you made to the date they redress.
When you finished the loan they would have given you a rebate for the ppi and this they will deduct from the redress.

Hi, Have found some really great info here about making a claim. I have several cards and old loans that I am to look into but the template letter seems to require an account number for any accounts I wish to ask for T's & C's for... and I do not have all of those for all of the accounts I wish to look into!! I know all the companies and all of the dates of the loans/cards but NOT account numbers...
Is there still a way to ask companies for details without this??

    Thanks in advance!!!!

    Danny
You could write to the banks and ask for all the info they hold on you, give as much info as you can and dont forget to enclose £10 for each bank.

    Hi Everyone,

I want to claim back ppi on a mortgage from C&G (Lloyds TSB). The paperwork says Cassidy Davies Insurance services administers of C&G payment protection on behalf of Lloyds TSB. So who do I write to to claim it back? The address on the paperwork is for Cassidy Davies or should I use one of Lloyds main addresses??

    Thanks
You send it to C&G initially,Lloyds deal with these.
