i received a rejection letter from Black Horse
I wrote back to them asking to look again using a load of key words and phrases found on the internet.
I havent heard anything back and its been 6 weeks
Do you think they are ignoring me? are the allowed to do this? what is the normal response time for a 2nd letter?
If it was not the final response, then ring and ask if they have recieved your second letter.0 -

Contacted Royal Mail and I can't do anything further from their perspective until Monday (have to leave 14 or so days before taking the next step).
Is this something that banks do? (it seems to be a PO Box)
Either delay receiving or is the address wrong? I don't think the addy is wrong as it's on the HFC complaints page also.
Anyone got any experience with this?
If they have not, then send it again, this time by first class post, this way it will be delivered and passed on to the correct department.0 -
Hi,
I've had a claim go through successfully but the amount is not just 25% but 25% +VAT so in all it comes to 30% and that's around £1600.
The firm handling the claim for me is on the government list and hasn't had it's license revoked yet but the height of the fee is staggering.
During the entire process I was getting direct contact from the bank (Halifax) and if I did get a letter from the PPI firm it was normally about 1 to 2 weeks after I received a letter from the bank.
Surely they should have received the contact from the bank and then passed that to me ASAP instead of the bank contacting me directly? I needn't have involved the PPI firm at all in this case.
And also is there a way to not pay that height of a bill and get that reduced because they have not actually acted as a middle man in the proper sense?0 -
Hi, I've registered my complaint with BOS about a 5 year personal loan I took out with them in 2002. I have all the original paperwork even the customer guide to completing the agreement( the courier will wait for 15 minutes, giving you plenty of time to follow the simple instructions below!!!)
The girl could not find me on their system as I do not bank with them but took all my details and registered my complaint and the reasons I believed I had been sold ppi.
She said I would get the usual letter but there was no need to fill in FOS questionnaire as they had details and they would phone if they needed to ask anything.
Is this the normal practice for BOS? I am just a little worried as my claim is dependent on what she put on the system and as one of my reasons is the fact that the credit agreement is misleading-only one monthly payment given and the part where they should have put ppi monthly amount blank, my case might not be as strong as if I sent copies and my several reasons stated in black and white.
I don't want to have to wait the 12 weeks only to find I have to start all over again
Has anyone else had the same experience with BOS?
Thanks
Hi Placida,
As cappo says you should play safe and get the questionnaire filled in with copies of your agreement paperwork and a simple covering letter asking for re payment of PPI.
If you don't get a written reply to the phone call from BOS by next week get everything sent off recorded delivery and keep copies of everything you send them including the questionnaire. If I remember correct your PPI was front loaded, make sure this is stated on the questionnaire as it is a big NO NO. Don't leave this on the strength of a phone call, good luck m8Successes

Hi aronar sorry to hear this, thats why on here we encourage people to do there own claims, i engaged a cmc to do several of my cases before i realised i could do them myself and i must say on there part it's money for old rope, you can do them quicker and easier yourself, i have put 6 claims through myself in the time my old cmc has been messing about with one and not making a very good job of it unfortunately, i am the same as you in wishing i'd done them all myself but money for old rope or not unfortunately you did sign a contract with them, check your paperwork if they have charged you more than they originally said, if they will not budge i would talk to the ministry of justice about it other than that i'm afraid you've got to pay them0 -

Yes I read Osorio's Half Year Results statement and it wasn't pretty reading, going to take them a long time to recover but at least they are talking about the end of 2014 in the statement. So hopefully everyone will be paid out by thenor then again :rotfl:

I have had a Barclaycard for a very long time and noticed several years ago that an entry of "Payment Protection" suddenly appearing on my statement. I did not recall asking for this and thought it was weird that they added this on after many years without it.
Martin's PPI claim guide seems complicated and long.
Any suggestions on if I have a claim and where to start?
Thanks0
