I have had a Barclaycard for a very long time and noticed several years ago that an entry of "Payment Protection" suddenly appearing on my statement. I did not recall asking for this and thought it was weird that they added this on after many years without it.
Martin's PPI claim guide seems complicated and long.
Any suggestions on if I have a claim and where to start?
Thanks

If you did'nt ask for ppi and it was added to your card without your consent then you were misold have a look at these links and it should give you an idea of whats what.

Find out how you were mis sold then write to them explaining why and that you expect all premiums plus interest refunded to you, if you do further research you can probs refine this a bit, but that's your starter for 10, I think a lot of people are put off by over complicating it, I know I procrastinated for a few years, however just had my first win, so it's worth it:j Good luck and let us know how you get on;)
MBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:

WOW Cap, Lloyds In Red After PPI Cost Wipes Out Profit

You see, when Lloyds declared profits before the PPI scandal hit them, the profits were on selling fraudulent PPI's. If Lloyds have financial interests in Italy, with the problems going on there, they will collapse ?

EVERYONE, you now know why Lloyds are stalling, these bar stewards don't have enough money.
THE GROUP = HBOS, HALIFAX, ST ANDREWS, BLACKHORSE

Tis no wonder Antonio Osorio got stressed out, he already knew what was coming.

FORECAST IS ..... the government will bail them out and Lloyds will become 100% owned by the taxpayers.

Lloyds Bank losses

Antonio Horta-Osorio will not return. He will vanish just like the idiot Fred Goodwin, ex RBS, on a big pension BUT .... who is going to pay that pension ????? Hope its not the taxpayers !!!

Then we have the new acting CEO of Lloyds, Tim Tookey.

He leaves Lloyds in february to work for a assurance company, hope they realise that he was the finance director of Lloyds who made big losses !
Not really a person that any company should employ ?

Tookey.... right now will be assuring his financial future for the next couple of months by securing a good pension, just like the rest of these vultures who live off the misery of others

I can only say to Tookey's new employers ...... he was the finance director of the Lloyds Banking Group, BIG LOSSES, do you really want to employ this man ????

Tim Tookey: Group Finance Director of Lloyds. A bank in the RED

MOST WANTED FOR ABUSE: Antonio Osorio (Lloyds), Fred (idiot) Goodwin (EX RBS), Stephen Hester (Current RBS) (uses taxpayers money to pay his bonus)

hi there they just told me that we had to go through FLA who deal with the underwriters for this ppi

Hi

Sorry was meant to say about this earlier.

Normally they will suggest the FLA, but if they're unable to help then go to the FOS in regards of the underwriter.

Unfortunately the FLA are not that helpful in regards of PPI reclaims, but best to rule it out first just in case, good luck.;)

I posted off a SAR to HFC at the address and sent it recorded delivery - Royal Mail still don't have any tracking history for the letter which suggests it hasn't been received by HFC. Contacted Royal Mail and I can't do anything further from their perspective until Monday (have to leave 14 or so days before taking the next step).
Is this something that banks do? (it seems to be a PO Box)
Either delay receiving or is the address wrong? I don't think the addy is wrong as it's on the HFC complaints page also.

Anyone got any experience with this?

Hiya

How long ago did you send the SAR request?
(Not to get this confused with the reclaiming questionnaire complaint).

A SAR they have 40 calendar days, did you enclose the payment of £10 by cheque or postal order to request for your SAR data?
If by cheque, keep an eye on your bank account, normally they debit this within a few days of sending out the SAR.

HFC are under the umbrella of HSBC, and whenever I emailed HFC I used the CEO details of HSBC they then get someone to respond from the relevant dept.
chiefexecutivehsbcbank@hsbc.com

No harm in emailing the above, tell them you are dealing with HFC and want to know if they are currently dealing with your SAR, also ask if they are able to forward the relevant email address to you of that actual department.

Good luck.

• I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice I had a letter from Capital One to comfirm a refund of £84.57 not much but it's something.

It said to sign and return the form which they forgot to enclose, I rang to request another form and during our conversation the lady mentioned that I have a balance of £70. As far as I was aware this account was cleared and closed as Capital One offered me a settlement as my debt situation was very bad can they now decide to take back the amount that they wrote off? Even though I have a letter saying the balance has been cleared?

Thanks for your help in advance

If you have this in writing and it stated in full and final, you should ask them how they can take this back now.
Give FOS a ring and ask what you can do.
