Good morning mate thanks for the reply. I took the loan out in feb 04 and I started my tesco loan in april 05. I have a claim for a loan on going where I borrowed £8000 over 24 months total payback £10450 the monthly payments for this loan were £436 pm the ppi was £1500 and I ran the full term. Along with the paperwork I got a break down sheet showing what id owe if I settled early, get ready for the disgusting figures

if I settled a 1/4 of the term I would have had to pay back £7814 settlement it is disgusting that 1/2 threw it was over 5k. I would have paid in 6 months so refering to the 1/4 settle £2400 so how the hell can halifax give me a settle of £186 less than what I borrowed.
  • I have a DMP. I have a basic bank account with Halifax which pays business and personal expenses. I have a Credit card with Halifax but I have not made a claim for mis-sold ppi yet as I am concerned that they might close the bank account as a result. Can someone advise me whether they would be likely to do that if I were to pursue a claim.

I have a cheque account with Barclays which I have had for many years. Because of the DMP I use this rarely as I do not want them taking money that might be credited to my account to clear the balance on the credit cards (which they have done in the past).

I have four PPI claims in with Barclays - I am wondering whether they would say I should close the current account in due course because I have made a claim and if I were also to pursue a claim with Halifax this could leave me without a bank account.

Some advice would be appreciated please

Incidentally, I have had a letter from Barclays this morning saying that they cannot trace some of my accounts and asking for confirmation of account numbers, then why am I paying as part of my DMP, and surely they must be able to trace previous loan accounts?

Yes linda they can trace your accounts, there just being awkward, as to them closing your bank account they are not allowed by law to do this although that would'nt stop them, as a rule if they try anything along those lines threaten to call the fsa you'd be surprised at how quick they can change there minds, don't worry too much, barclays closed my barclaycard account down but i had'nt used it in 5 years so fair do's i suppose.

Hi, I've registered my complaint with BOS about a 5 year personal loan I took out with them in 2002. I have all the original paperwork even the customer guide to completing the agreement( the courier will wait for 15 minutes, giving you plenty of time to follow the simple instructions below!!!)

The girl could not find me on their system as I do not bank with them but took all my details and registered my complaint and the reasons I believed I had been sold ppi.

She said I would get the usual letter but there was no need to fill in FOS questionnaire as they had details and they would phone if they needed to ask anything.

Is this the normal practice for BOS? I am just a little worried as my claim is dependent on what she put on the system and as one of my reasons is the fact that the credit agreement is misleading-only one monthly payment given and the part where they should have put ppi monthly amount blank, my case might not be as strong as if I sent copies and my several reasons stated in black and white.

I don't want to have to wait the 12 weeks only to find I have to start all over again
Has anyone else had the same experience with BOS?

    Thanks
