  • hi please can someone help i am dealing with all loans that we have had with ppi and one we have is a store card via kwik fit which ws origianlly run by ge money and now we deal with santander i issued a letter to them dated the 18/10/2011 and have received a response today from their complaints team advising they have looked at it and have advised that because the box was signed we agreed to this and because since 2001 the insurance has been shown on our statements and we could have cancelled at any point because it was optional and we had 28 days after the signatory to cancel we were not made aware of this at any point by sales rep in kwik fit . the policy apparently was upgraded in december 2001 which was not what we did it was done by the company itself and so they have advised no evidence of mis-selling.they have advised us to forward our complaint to the fla. plezse can someone advise where we go or whatwe can do next because this ppi company have had 10 years of our money for something we did not ask for or was made aware of

Is this a claim for ppi mis sell?.
What year was this loan taken out as the FSCS are dealing with Welcome claims for loans taken out after jan 14th 2005.
  • Hi

has anybody successfully claimed back associated CC charges after a PPI claim has been upheld? If so how did you go about it and is there a template letter I've had a look and I can only find the standard one?

    Any help appreciated!

Also just pinged off a PPI email to Santander for a Mothercare card I took out in store in 2004.;) It won't be a huge amount as the premium has only been between £1-£5 month however it's better in my back pocket than theirs!:p

Still waiting to hear back from Capital One and have written my SAR letter to Natwest, so I'm not asking you to do it ALL for me :)

    Thanks

okay so after a bit more research I'm *guessing* I just write to them stating that as they have upheld my claim for PPI mis sell they also owe me for the over the limit charges caused by this whether £12 or not (sorry not good with words but sure I can flower it up in a letter!) plus associated interest? ANY help (confidence boosting!) would be great on this one

    thanks x:o
    MBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
    Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:

Nice to meet ya mate im mark, I for some reason dont think Mint will pay me back I sent an original letter in 2007 regarding the ppi, they didnt reply however the numpty I called told me to send it to enfield, this time I found the address on internet and I got a reply saying they looking into I borrowed £5000 over 5 years total payback was £7500 with interest at something stupid like 19% and my insurance was just over £1000

Nice to meet you as well mark, the banks are really stringing things out now mate they'll have to payout in the end i don't know who there trying to kid.

that would be great, but it's more whether or not it's a proper claim or not I'm worried about as a lot of the charges are for £12 and I'm worried they're are just going to tell me that the charges were deemed fair:o need the confidence to know I'm right legally if that makes sense x

  • I have just had my loan cleared and a cash amount via the FSCS for a Welcome PPI claim. They sent me the letter, I filled it in with minimal amount of info because I'd had the loan years ongoing. The total amount paid was £2210. I was going to ignore it and not bother, I didn't believe I would be entitled to it and only filled it in because I had nothing to lose. I can now afford to live!! It didn't cost me a penny, I didn't do anything other than fill that one form in and no-one queried anything. So WF must have been verry verry naughty when selling loans!

The £12 charges were for monthly default payments, is that right ?

If so, it's dead simple, ask them for a breakdown of the charges, in other words their calculations on how they arrived at a £12 fee. They won't answer because they can't.
    REPLY:
If you cannot give me full breakdown, then I consider the charges to be unfair and unlawful, so please refund immediately
