    Hi,

When reading through some of the posts about PPI reclaiming (I think it was the success/failure thread) I noticed someone was talking about a claim form 1988. I thought you could only go back 6 years? Could someone clarify please as I've just come across a loan from 1991 in my paperwork.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

Egg have sent me a cheque for refund of ppi but they have not given contractual interest I called and they said since 2005 they stopped charging interest on PPI does anyone know if this is the case? I don't have any paperwork to check.

    Many thanks in advance

    Hi

Was this a credit card or loan ppi?
I understand it differs from loans to credit card ppi, but I did not realise they stopped since 2005 though.

    Well done on your success.

    Advice required please.

I'm having trouble with MBNA. I asked them for T&C's on my accounts, they requested £1 for each account, i sent them £2 and they sent the terms for one account. I wrote to them again requesting the information for the second and they asked for another £1 despite the first cheque being cashed for both. I've sent a complaint to the head of Virgin money and have not had a reply. To compound my annoyance I sent a letter getting my girlfriends T&C's and enclosed a £1 cheque, they replied saying payment wasn't enclosed and to send a cheque for £1!!! This cheque however has not been cashed but was definitely sent. Who can I complain to about all this nonsense? Complaining to them appears to have no effect, what about the FSA/FOS?

    Thanks

    Hi there

    How incompetant of them!!

I would at first email or write to the CEO.
However, if you know you were paying for ppi and mis sold, you can still continue to make a reclaim without the need of this paperwork.

Seems like they are playing hard to get, so just get a reclaim in, by completing the reclaim questionnaires as on step 3 below, send to their head office or complaints dept, save copies and post by recorded delivery.
    Good luck.

    Hi there

If you still have hold of any paperwork in relation to the accounts, you can still give it a shot, and make them aware its only now you became aware of the mis selling of PPI.

Mine however have been successful from accounts taking out from the mid 90's and some others on here even earlier, good luck.;)

  • Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone on here for all the advice and support on claiming for ppi!

I've just had a reponse from HSBC and am getting almost £2000 back on a claim over loan ppi! (which does include a loss of intrest at 8%)

I simply said that by taking the loan out over the phone I did not feel that they explained all the beenfits properly and because of my age they exploited my lack of knowledge (i was 19 at the time).

They took a total of 10 weeks to respond from start to finish, have had to sign a letter to say I've accepted the payment and it will take another 4 weeks to hit my account.

Without all the encouragment on here I dont think I ever would have put in the claim-so if anyone is ever in any doubt about claiming-DO IT-just takes a letter!

    Thanks guys! :j
  • Hi

so MBNA have upheld my PPI claim which is great, however there are also many overlimit charges which were caused by the mis selling of the PPI, do I have a case for claiming back the CC charges too?
    Thanks
    MBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
    Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:

    Dear All

I'm back again. I posted on this forum in August about a possible claim against Abbey (now Santander)

Here's the link to my original post:_

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...5#post46191325

And thank you to Cappo for your reply back then.

So, this has been left on the back burner, but now I've decided I'm gonna do this before it's too late.....but I have another couple of questions.

The loan I had was not only in my maiden name but also at my parent's address (where I then lived)...how do I get around this?

I'm going to fill in the questionnaire and send it with a covering letter (is that what people do???)

I was thinking in the letter I could put all my previous details (and my parents still live there), as well as offering to go into a branch to provide proof that I am who I say I am (passport, marriage certificate, etc) but I can envisage "problems" shall we say. Any pointers would be a great help

    thanks muchly
