PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi All,
This is the first time I have posted on here although I have read many of the threads with interest. I sent off two ppi claim questionnaires to Natwest in August - I did not really know what I was doing or what to expect. I just thought it was worth a go. Today I have recived letters stating they have looked into the loans them and have given me three offers (I only applied for two but they have looked at the chain of loans). The offers seem reasonable to me so I would like to accept them.
The letters state that the "offer will take into account any arrears on my account. The remaining balance if any will then be paid to my Natwest current account." What does this actually mean? I still have two and half years left on a five year loan. Does this mean that Natwest will just put the offers straight on to this account? I really hope that this is not the case.
I hope someone will be able to advise me as to what i need to do.
Thanks for any advice given.0 -
Apologies if this is in the wrong area...
I cancelled my credit card (MBNA Liverpool FC Credit card) last month. Before doing so, I queried a PPI premium which was an annual cover. I could not recollect ever taking this out, although it is on my monthly statement as a figure offset against my balance. I asked them to query when I had set this up (they replied it was in August 2007 and they would cancel this policy immediately).
Today I received a letter saying they were upholding my claim - although I never actually claimed - with a refund of £1047.91. They also said that they would not enter into any further correspondence on the matter, unless through the ombudsman. I don't have my statements from the beginning (shredded) and can only view my last 12 months online, which doesn't help much as I prety much cleared my balance of about £2700 off earlier in the year.
Is it correct that I cannot get any verification on whether their offer is accurate or a rip-off, other than going through the ombudsman? I didn't technically "claim" as such and I feel a little suspicious on the figure presented. At it's height, I was paying £25.00-ish a month on the PPI interest and the calculated interest they worked out came to £399.10.
Apologies if I'm in the wrong thread or if I should have worked it out by myself. Sadly I'm very naive on these kind of things0 -
Hi folks, just after a wee bit of advice RE sending a SAR letter to Barclays.
Would i just send this to Head office ?
I've been fobbed off thus far and have an overwhelming need to know what details they actually do have of my loans i've tried ppi reclaim on from '94 and '98(got the detail for the 2003 loan).
Any guidance most welcome as always.Libraries gave us power, then work came and made us free...:D0 -
After a long struggle I have a revised offer from Nat West that I will accept of almost £3000 they admitted wrong calculation on first offer. Thanks for the support it was worth waiting for and the CE contact advise certainly worked!
In 4 days time (11 Nov) I should receive Barclaycard offer on credit card PPI but its getting close to the wire so what happens if they default on the deadline?0 -

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if PPI refund claims on mortgages are successful?
I had PPI on a C&G (Lloyds) Mortgage and I am wanting to claim it all back!
Thanks0 -

Hi there
You can send to the head office and they should forward your SAR on to the data dept, post by recorded delivery though and the same when you make a reclaim.
So you have already tried to make a reclaim then?
And when you say fobbed off do you mean they rejected your complaints?
Always write back even if you received final decisions, sometimes they will change a final decision within good reason, so if you have anything further to tell them or don't think they have taken your reasons into consideration, tell them so and ask they get back to you by 14 days.
Normally in a final decision they should let you know if your eligible to complain to the Financial ombudsman Service (FOS).
If you hear nothing by 14 days or they do not change the decision, try making a complaint to the FOS.
Keep on at them, good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Well done on your success!
I am not sure in regards of the issues if they do not keep to the timescale, but maybe someone who have been in that position will, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
