    Can anyone help me
I have had a Yorkshire Bank account since 1990, I applied for a SAR and was notified of 2 loans with the loan account numbers, one paid off in 1998 the other in 2001. I know i had PPI on these as i was told as a single parent I wouldn't be approved over wise.
I put in a claim, but have received a letter today turning me down because I don't have the original paperwork, i have some statements showing me paying back £140.66 per month, but the statements were the loan went in aren't there.
What really upsets me is the amount of bank charges I received every single month and both loans were to clear my overdraft, insisted on by the bank!!! to line their pockets.
Have I hit a brick road or any other ideas gratefully received.:(

Hi lisa draw the banks attention to the fsa's policy statement where it says that the bank should not hold it against you if you don't have he paperwork, give me a min and i'll look it up for you.

Hi lisa bring to there attention these points

    3.3.39
the firm should recognise that oral evidence may be sufficient evidence and not dismiss evidence from the complainant solely because it is not supported by documentary proof. The firm should take account of a complainants limited ability to fully articulate his complaint or to explain his actions or decisions made at the time of the sale.

    3.3.89
The firm should not draw a negative inference from a complainant not having kept documentation relating to the purchase of the policy for any particular period of time

    Hi There!
I am trying to fill in the questionare to make a complaint to Lloyds TSB...as they have not provided me with a copy of my original agreement, i am struggling to remember dates, how i took out the policy and who provides the cover.
So..should I tick the boxes saying i cant remember? or would it be worth paying £10 to see a full statement of my account? bearing in mind, they have said they will not enter into further correspendence with me regarding a copy of my agreement.
I also dont know if i have the ppi provided by them or if it is Sentinal card cover? Would this show as Sentinel on my credit card statement?

    Thanks again!

as beamer says a sar is the best idea they told me i never had ppi on loan and credit card accounts held with them so how trustworthy can they be, i would pursue this as it should be for them to prove that you were not misold not down to you to prove you are but unfortunately the fsa are allowing this to happen by not taking the banks to task.

    Hi

How was it sold to you?

    Phone, internet, leaflet?

If online, its already pre-ticked to what I am aware of, so it may have been missed where you could have opted out, if this is the case I would make them aware of that, and tell them it must have been pre-ticked and you must have then assumed it all part of the package.

Hi, it was a paper application that they claim I must have ticked but I have yet to see the evidence
  • I wonder if someone could help me. I have been checking some old bank statements from 2000/2001 and came across some entries for "Lloyds Bowmaker" approx £220 each payment. It looks like an old loan, but I can't remeber the details. I am assuming this was from an old loan with Lloyds, but I do not have an account number. Could I send an SAR to Lloyds with the dates of the payments and amounts, with the old address details and hope that they can provide the details?

Simularly I came accross payments under ALPF Ltd. I remember having a loan with Alliance & Leicester and I have finally found bank statement entries (ALPF Ltd) but again I have no account number. Would Alliance & Leicester Personal Finance Ltd come under Santandar now?

    thanks for any help
