Thanks for all your responses, I really appriciate the help and advice. I will keep pushing this. I haven't had a "final response" from them yet but will see what that says when it comes and then take it further. I am at my wits end with this and as i have said I have never received any insurance paperwork from Capital One to prove this has ever existed.0

You just have to keep hitting them hard.
Email the CEO, Rich Fairbank and issue a formal complaint to him

Thanks Cappo, Beamerguy and Di3004. I have written a letter to Barclays and will post in the morning. Hopefully I will get somewhere with it. Also, rang Halifax about a credit card I had and they are sending a form for me to fill in.

The other thing that i should mention, incase this makes a difference, is that I have recently signed up to a debt arrangement scheme. Capital ONE continued to add ppi to the card after they had agreed to the DAS and it was that which first alterted me to this. The Debt mamangement company have since told me that this is actually illegal as they have signed an agreement to freeze the interest and any further add ons, however I still need to chase the previous ppi myself and have just learned that the ppi added after the das scheme will be repaid to the card "as a gesture of goodwill" by capital one. This I believe is also illegal because it HAS rto be paid back to me so the DMC are now on the case for that bit.0
