this is not on faith call the ministry of justice who regulate these claim companies some of them are good but the vast majority are just out to rip off the public and make a quick buck, DIY is always best and incidently much quicker.
I second this Cappo/Steve.:TThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Just wanted to say thanks to Di, Cappo and Beamerguy who have given me the strength to keep going at this. You are all fantastic. I am sure I have missed people off the list for thank yous but even if you are not mentioned I do appreciate all the help and advice and even the straight talking at times. I am so relieved this is all nearly over. will let you know when we get the cheque.
Thanks again.

Di3004 helpped me construct an email which was sent to MBNA, who in turn replied back they were re-investigating.
Two weeks ago I called for an update and was told it has gone to the calculations department.......but today I have been sent a letter not upholding my complaint.
I called them and they said it is the final response and I can take it to the FOS.
Upon reading the letter again it says is they could reopen it if I can prove pre-existing medical history (which my doctor will write) and self employment.
I am a bit stumped proving the self employment in our family business, how do I prove that? The business was sold in 2004 so really do not know where I should start getting the relevant evidence.
They also enclosed a copy of my agreement which shows the PPI box ticked.
I have a feeling the person who told me they were calculating was just a general customer service assistant and not someone from the PPI department.
Any advice will be appreciated.:A
How misleading for you!!!
Could you have a word with your GP practice, and ask if they have any details from that year.
I assume your GP would hold all information no matter how old.
However, they may make a charge, but otherwise make an appointment with maybe the sister of the surgery, and discuss matters with her. Maybe they will supply some details, or if it came to it, there is a charge. Check your GP website for charges on med records.
In regards of self employment, it maybe worth writing or contacting the Inland Revenue/HMRC, my brother in law contacted them and they gave him details as from about 2001 or maybe 2002.
You will get there, but they are playing hard in my opinion and I'm sure you should be able to get some details of the above.;) xxThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi,
Just reading on here as I too have a loan with Barclays where the agreement shows I have ticked the box however I am sure a person I dealt with said i had to have it otherwise couldnt have loan. Not sure how I will be able to prove but its worth a go. I will try and word the letter in detail highlighting the ticked box so hopefully i wont get a letter from them stating that as will be an even long delay

Hi Zoe
Give them as many details as possible in relation of the mis selling of the policy.
Tell them you were pressurised into taking out the ppi by the staff, and as a valued customer you believe you have grounds to complain on this, and tell them it was not sold in your best interest, and whatever else that applies.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi, the only thing here is if you complain to the FOS now, Lloyds may close your case, so as frustrating as it is, sit it out, as you've done so far, but contacting your local MP may help, who will write on your behalf, they will want your vote in time to come, so I'm sure they will be willing to help you.

DO LLOYDS GIVE A MONKEYS ABOUT THE STRESS THEY CAUSED COUNTLESS 1000'S OF PEOPLEADD INTEREST TO YOUR CLAIM UNTIL THEY PAY YOU0 -
Helping my son with reclaiming ppi on an Endeavour Personal Finance secured loan he took out in 2007
The term of the loan was 25 years but he settled early in 2010. He is sure he had ppi on this but when he moved house he threw paper work away.
Can anyone please tell me where he should send a SAR to find out details of loan?
Thanks0 -

Hi
Was the loan actually set up and sold by Endeavour, or was there a broker involved as well.
For example, one of mine the lender was Endeavour, but Click Finance was the ones who set up and sold the loan.
So basically, whoever sold it are the ones to pursue.
Your son could save money on a SAR if he knows the account number (this should be found on banking statements where the loan repayments were debits.
If there are no statements to hand and he still banks with the same bank where the payments came out of, - and banks online, this may allow him to go back some years.
So basically, if your son knows for definate he was paying and mis sold PPI, he can still continue to make a reclaim without the need of the paperwork, although its useful to have on standby for calculations, yet they should send these if he is successful, but its up to you/your son of course if you want to go the SAR direction first.
Endeavour are run by HFC now and taken on EPF's liabilities, so you write to HFC on the address below, and I assume it will be the same address for the SAR.
HFC Bank Limited,
PO Box 5207,
Coventry,
CV3 9FB

To reclaim, send them the reclaim questionnaire shown on step 3 below, remember to save copies as well.

If you decide on a SAR, there is a letter template below, you enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order, and they have 40 calendar days to comply.

Good luck.
I would also post by signed for/recorded delivery. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
